What’s In This for Salon and Spa Owners/Managers
When considering paying money out for training you must consider the following:
Will it put my salon/spa above others?
Many clients are listening to the media about nail services and staying away.
This training will allow you to market that your salon and professionals maintain the highest level of safety available anywhere. And that they can see it was performed.
These practices will set your salon/spa above and apart from others.
Will my staff be more informed and perform at a higher level?
The class is written by two highly respected educators that are committed to raising the performance levels and incomes of nail professionals through education.
When nail technicians make more money, the salon makes more money.
This course will provide them a higher level of information and to a higher level of performance.

Robert Spalding, DPM
Dr. Spalding, Chattanooga, TN, a board certified Podiatrist and the author of the text, The Science of Pedicures, and has been an advocate for nail technicians for over a decade. These incidents brought him to develop and offer these nail courses.
Janet McCormick, MS
Janet McCormick, Frostproof, FL, is a licensed and experienced manicurist (1980) and esthetician (1994), a former salon owner, and a sought-after trainer. You say working safely relates to business growth? How?

Safety has become a concern of nail clients due to the media blitz of the damages and deaths caused by negligent salons. For that reason, marketing that your salon/spa’s technicians perform healthy services WILL get attention.
Taking a publicity negative and turning it into a positively WILL set you apart from your competition. In a good way, while increasing your bottom line.

A Crisis in the Nail Industry
We are labeled a ‘high risk industry’ by forensic physicians
The industry has leveled in growth
Income has reduces in the nail industry
Fewer new technicians are coming into the industry
Current Situation
Many physicians do not trust our care
Many potential clients are afraid to have nail services
The media is negative
Incomes are not as high as they could be
______________________________________
A correction is needed
Turn Negatives to Positives
Provide the clients, physicians and the media a reason to feel confident in your services
Build a new stream of clients by courting referrals from physicians
Provide verifiable techniques of safety = the clients must know the implements are sterile/safe and the salon is clean
The Results?
Physicians will become partners and send clients to technicians for cosmetic services
Clients will choose a sterilizing salon over others
Your salon/spa’s income will be higher
The crisis will be over – at least in your salon/spa
Times Changed Quickly
2000-Present
Early 2000’s pedicures were soon to become a lifestyle service, similar to the haircut & color
Then, the Media focused on the deaths and damage in poorly performing salons and changed the attitudes of current and potential clients, reducing their trust in nail services
“Clean” is becoming a great marketing focus
NowTimes are tough
Loyalty is difficult to establish unless you can show them you care
Being different pays if it is positive
Sterilizing and a clean salon/spa pays in profits and loyalty
Self preservation is a strong motivator
Marketing Healthy Practices
Marketing = setting yourself apart from your peers
Marketing based on “Clean Safe Salon” is effective
Marketing healthy practices attracts the client’s all important self-preservation instinct.
Marketing Healthy Practices
Brings in new clients
Increases loyalty among current clients and referrals are higher
Perception is everything – when the client knows your salon/spa performs healthy practices, they believe you are caring, especially about them as an individual
Marketing Healthy Practices
You must market that you work healthy to current and potential clients.
Once they know, they will be afraid to go anywhere that does not perform the healthy techniques your salon/spa performs
Good safety marketing makes clients WANT to come to you
“It’s All About Me!”
Marketing, no matter the complexity, boils down to this phrase, and the ‘me’ is the client.
You MUST give new and current clients what they want or they will not believe in and buy from you.
What do they want, besides beautiful nails? What can you give them that most salons are not giving them?
HEALTHY SERVICES
How do I do this?
First, train your technicians as Advanced Nail Technicians
Perform simple aseptic changes in your salon/spa
Hang their certificates and market your safe techniques to physicians and clients
Enjoy your increased clientele!
What is Aseptic Technique?
Definition: “ services performed without bacteria”
Techniques central to safe techniques at the nail table
The ANT graduate will be fully trained in the techniques.
