I am pleased to announce that Mrs. Patricia (Patty) D. Mauer has been selected as our new Principal of St. Michael School. Mrs. Mauer has been a teacher at St. Patrick’s School in Terre Haute, IN since 2000 and has also served as the Assistant Principal there since 2013. Prior to joining St. Patrick’s she taught at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Greensburg, IN for three years. Mrs. Mauer has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from I.U.P.U.I. and a Masters Degree in Education Leadership/Building Administration from Indiana State University. In 2011, she was one of five finalists for the prestigious Saint Theodora Excellence in Education Award. While her position officially begins on July 1, 2015, she will be in and out of the school over

the next few weeks. We will formally introduce her to the Parish at all Masses on the weekend of June 13-14. I want to thank the Principal Search Committee, lead by Peggy Hays, for their hard work and dedication in identifying our new principal. Many hours were spent in meetings and conducting interviews. I know you will join me in welcoming Patty to our St. Michael family as we look to the future with great hope, promise and enthusiasm. Your Brother in Christ,

Dcn. Wayne Davis Parish Life Coordinator, Pro Tem

The President’s Academic Excellence Award at Scecina Memorial High School recognizes students who are

in the Top 10 of their respective classes or whose grade point average is a 4.0 or higher. In addition, the senior award winners elect an influential person in his or her life and then write a brief reflection about that mentor. The mentors are asked to do the same for the student. At a ceremony in May, the student and his or her mentor are called forward as the Principal and President read their reflections. Each senior receives a plaque, the mentor’s written reflection, and a ring from the school. The following 2015 President’s Academic Excellence Award recipients are St. Michael parishioners and/or graduates of St. Michael school. CONGRATULATIONS! Sophomores: Jonathan Card and William Ferree Juniors: Margaret Mayer and Bridget Delaney

Mrs. Pam Skrznecki Retires from St. Michael School Mrs. Pam Skrzynecki’s life has been dedicated to Catholic Education. She has taught in Catholic Schools for 37 years! Here at St. Michael we were blessed by having her on our teaching staff for 27 years. Prior to joining St. Michael’s staff she taught for 3 years at St. Rita School in Indianapolis and for 7 years in the Catholic School system in Ohio. Mrs. Skrznecki was loved by her students. Parents valued having their children in her class. She will be missed in the fall. On behalf of the St. Michael family, thank you Mrs. Skrznecki for your faithful, dedicated service. We wish you a happy and healthy

future. God Bless You.
