Montería is a city located in Northern Colombia and is the capital of the Department of Córdoba. The city and region are famous for their distinct cultural heritages, which include a blend of indigenous, Zenú Indians and African descendants. The city has an inland seaport connected to the Caribbean Sea by the Sinú River.

ECONOMY The economy of the city is based mainly on cattle farming and

a very prosperous commercial district consisting of modern malls, shops, and restaurant chains. It is considered as the Capital of the Agriculture and Cattle in Colombia and is celebrated with an annual festival.

The city is home to the Sombrero Vueltiao, a national symbol, too is recognized for the folklore music.

POPULATION The region is populated by a diverse mix of people,

including the indigenous people of the region, the descendants of the Sinu Indians and tribes of natives with their own language. In the city there are approximately 415.192 people

COSTUMES In Monteria, for its climate, the clothes are very

uncovered, but the typical costumes are the of dance.

LA RONDA DEL SINÚ Is the city of the longest linear park in Latin

America, this is La Ronda del Sinú, runs along the Sinú River and offers a beautiful view of the river and it is easy to see monkeys, squirrels, iguanas and wild birds.

CATEDRAL DE SAN JERÓNIMO

La catedral San Jerónimo de Montería is located in the park Laureano Gómez in the center of the city, its beautiful structure is gothic and with a style republican , this is the most beautiful church in the city and it is impossible not to stay admired with her beauty.

THE VIEWPOINT The viewpoint is located on the extension of la

ronda del sinú, in the north of the city, from there you can appreciate the Sinu River, the northern round and most of the city.
