MOST HOLY TRINITY MAY 22, 2016 www.ctkbelton.org Christ the King Catholic Church Belton Page 1 From Fr. John Kim Springfest 2016 is upon us! It is time to celebrate our blessings and come together as a community. This is a wonderful time when we invite everyone in the area to join us at Christ the King Catholic Church for fun, food and fellowship. The word “catholic” literally means universal, and it was originally applied to all Christians in the way that we are all members of the Body of Christ. In this regard, we open our parish to all. Please bring your family and friends to enjoy Springfest. We want to show the community our special brand of hospitality. Let us rejoice and welcome everyone to make Christ the King their spiritual home! Last week during Pentecost, we focused on the Holy Spirit which we receive as fol- lowers of Jesus to build up the Body of Christ, the Church. Many of you labored countless hours to build up Springfest, and now we will enjoy the fruits of that labor. We appreciate the generosity of our parishioners for donating auction items, baked goods, homemade and hand crafted items, prizes, drinks, supplies, startup funds, and especially your time and talents. Your efforts have purpose and make a differ- ence. Together we are building God’s kingdom here on earth! Thank you for joining us at Christ the King Catholic Church. We are happy to have you with us today, and hope that you feel welcome. Our parish is a very vibrant community of faith. Are you new to the Catholic Church? Have you been away from the Church for some time? You are invited to worship with us. Contact our parish office if you would like to learn more about the Catholic faith, discuss plans for marriage or baptism, or schedule a chat with Fr. John. If you would like to become a member of our parish, you can register online, or pick up a form in the office. We look forward to seeing you again soon! Welcome to Christ the King! 2016

Let us rejoice and welcome everyone to make Christ the King their spiritual home! Last week during Pentecost, we focused on the Holy Spirit which we receive as fol-lowers of Jesus to build up the Body of Christ, the Church. Many of you labored countless hours to build up Springfest, and now we will enjoy the fruits of that labor. We congratulate all of those who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on May 14, 2016 by the Most Reverend Danny

Garcia. As you continue on your journey, know that Christ the King will pray for you, support you, and strive to be a good exam-ple of discipleship for you. Know, too, that your desire for this

sacrament strengthens our faith and renews our own commit-ment to our baptism. We would like to thank our photographers Chantel and Matthew Horner for capturing lovely images of this

Sacrament for us to remember. We also thank Colleen Saxon, Wanda Sly, Elsie Christie, Candice Wade, Jackie Risinger and Dee Embry for decorating the Christus Center so beautifully and

preparing the fantastic meal!
