1. International

a. Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Dr Fauci has

said that the US could reach 100,000 new COVID cases if country does not

handle pandemic.

b. Airbus has announced to cut 15,000 jobs within a year to deal with effects

of COVID pandemic.

c. Health Department of France has said that number of new cases from COVID

are rising sharply.

d. UN Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution calling for a halt to

conflicts to facilitate fight against COVID pandemic.

e. According to study published by UN, Global tourism revenues are expected to

fall up to 3.3 Trillion USD due to COVID restrictions.

f. US has reported 57,236 COVID cases (highest rise in single day since

outbreak of pandemic in USA).

g. Thailand has announced to reopen schools with precautions to guard against

the COVID.

2. National

a. Rawalpindi Administration has sealed eight areas designated as COVID

“hotspots” by Punjab government.

b. Federal Minister for Science and Technology has said that two COVID testing

kits have been sent to DRAP for approval.

c. The CAA has imposed a ban on giving protocol to the VIPs at airports due to

COVID pandemic.

d. Chinese Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson has sa id Pakistan and China have

set up a joint prevention mechanism on COVID.

e. Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has said that

Pakistan is exporting COVID equipment worth USD 100 Mn.

f. British MPs demand removal of misleading story blaming Pakistan for half of

UK's imported coronavirus cases.

g. Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has notified new COVID-19 guidelines for air

travel.
