Dear Sir/Madam, The National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), the apex organisation of the Indian Cooperative Movement was established in the year 1929 with the prime objective to educate, guide and assist people in the efforts to build up and expand the cooperative sector and to serve as an exponent of cooperative opinion in accordance with the cooperative principles. With a view to achieve this objective NCUI regularly conducts, collaborates and assists in carying out research, investigation of cooperative problems and formulation of projects for cooperative development. As you are aware that Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam was an eminent scientist popularly known as the "Missile Man of India for his work on missile system development. He served as the 11 President of Republic of India and worked with missionary zeal to uplift poor and down trodden. Cooperatives in India also are mainly intended to serve the poor farmers and artisans. Hence, in the honour of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Ex. President of India, NCUI has decided to set a scholarship in the field of cooperation for 2 PhD scholars every year. The proposed scholarship will be given only to those scholars who are pursuing their PhD work in Cooperation through reputed institutes as per the UGC guidelines. The following will be the terms and conditions for award of scholarships 1. Nomination of the scholars who fulfil the eligibility criteria as per the guidelines laid by the UGC may be forwarded to the undersigned with the following details by 20th of November, 2020 duly certified by the Registrar of the concern University. Name of the Scholar Age Educational Qualifications . Topic of the Thesis Synopsis (in not less than 5-6 A4 size typed sheets) VI. Undertaking by the Scholars that (s)he is not getting scholarship/fellowship for this thesis from any other organisation/university. IV.   • 2. Disbursal of Scholarship Amount: The scholarship amount of Rs. 3.00 lakh per scholar will be released to the concerned University on the basis of the progress of work duly certified by the Guide and Registrar of the University which may then be

    transferred to the account of the scholar.

    You are requested to circulate this letter to all concerned departments and invite nominations for this scholarship from scholars who wish to undertake a PhD in the area of

    Cooperation and forward the details as specified above on or before 20h of November, 2020. Shortlisted candidates will be called thereafter for interview.
