Dear Friends,

Through your sustained support, NICE has been able to raise Rs.1 Crore 26 Lakhs during the past year. The school

now takes care of 160 boys and 60 girl students in separate campuses with a staff quarters accommodating 25 staff

(teaching and non-teaching) members. We have also been able to extend support to needy children for their higher

education beyond 10th standard.

On the academic front, we are proud to maintain the 100% pass results of our 10th students. A significant

accomplishment for NICE this year has been getting the CBSE affiliation after a sustained effort. It reflects

recognition of the high standards that NICE has been able to maintain, both on the academic as well as

infrastructure fronts. The affiliation will enable children of our school to potentially tap into scholarships offered by

Govt of India. Children had to travel to Hyderabad previously to take their annual examinations which was very

exacting. With the affiliation, they now can take these examinations in Kendriya Vidyalayas in Guntur District

itself.

NICE received support from several corporates and groups such as Microsoft India (c/o Charities Aid Foundation),

NATCO Pharma Ltd, NetEnrich, Helping Indians, Samidha, NTT Data, IDPL 1991 batch, and Shivashakthi Bio

Plantech Ltd. Many have associated with us in their individual capacity such as C. Ramakrishna (Chartered

Accountant), C. Sharad Krishna, C. Ramakanth, Shashidhar, S.L. Shivaraj (Nizamabad), Gopal Gundam (Helping

Indians), Nagesh, Sathish, Kalyan of Samidha Group, Anuttara, Partha, Devidas Joshi, T.Varalakshmi, Madhavi

Malampati, Satya Kiran, Pavan Kumar, Neeraja, Rambabu, and several new donors.. Individuals like Dr. Srikanth,

K. Udaya Shankar, Giri Kolanupaka, Abhilash Nama, Pavan and others of Asha Hyderabad chapter and Dilip

Kuchipudi, Gottipati Singarao, M. Nageshwar Rao (Eenadu), Nagesh, Satish and team of Samidha Group have

stepped in to cover the personal expenses of Mr. PurnaChandra Rao (Secretary of NICE) and for the educational

expenses of his children. This enabled him to devote most of his time for NICE. Special thanks to Dhanunjay

(Director) and Sita Murthy (Principal) of Silver Oaks School for taking care of the educational needs of Mr.

PurnaChandra Rao’s children. Neither Mr. PurnaChandra Rao nor any of the board members have taken a single

rupee as salary for the past 12 years from NICE. Almost 97% of the entire donations received have been used for

the cause and only 3% have gone towards administrative expenses.

When one compares the fundraising this year to the 2.38 Lakhs raised in 2002-03, it fills us with wonder as to how

far we have come on this journey. All of you have been integral partners in making a difference to the lives of

hundreds of underprivileged children. We can only offer our heartfelt gratitude in return.

This continuous growth is due to the effort put in by a lot of people from our organization, and

all the support we received from donors and well-wishers. We thank everyone instrumental in

this.

Anjaneyulu Gottipati,

Director, Operations

As a Director, I saw that it’s not just education that is

lacking in rural areas. One has to also address the

significant poverty. With this in mind, we have setup a

small primary health center with good doctors where

medicine and service are provided. We have also been

running camps in summer to provide clean drinking water

camps. We created awareness among the children about tree

plantation, agriculture and their importance. We made

children plant trees across the road leading to village. We

are also looking to start a second project to serve needy

children on similar lines as NICE. Our goal is to have a

second similar school established by 2015.

In conjunction with academics, we are also involving children

in yoga, meditation, and other cultural activities. We are

providing excellent facilities such as an expanded library,

laboratories for Physics and Chemistry, and Computer lab.

Children also get to interact with and listen to inspirational

persons and groups such as V.V. Lakshminarayana (Ex. Jt.

Director, CBI), Ms. T.Usha (Tatva Global School), and

Nachiketha Tapovan School. We are also endeavoring to give

back to society by organizing health camps, distribution of

material to deprived students, and taking care of basic needs of

children attending govt. schools. Some of the alumni of the

school have also been participating in these activities. We also

encourage our school children to expand their horizons

through field trips. All these have been possible because of

sustained involvement and help from patrons like you.

Chairman, Managing Director, V.C. Nannapaneni visited our school last year. This year he has

contributed Rs. 7 Lakhs which has been used for the construction of a new Library building. Mr.

Rajeev, CEO of NATCO Pharma and his friends, Helping Indians team Ranga Reddy, Srinivas

Reddy and Gopal Reddy donated Rs. 8 Lakhs because of V.C. Nannapaneni’s referrral. On behalf

of NATCO Trust, Mrs. Swathi, provided medicines for children and entire NICE staff. In addition,

under the coordination of M.Vijayalakshmi, they organized educational workshops with several

eminent speakers like Dr. S. R. Parimi, Dr. Subbaraju, Dr. Sudhakar, Dr. Giri Tiruvuri, Dr. C.

Subbarao (Ex. Chairman, Higher Education Dept), Rudrama Devi, Bhujang Rao, Nageshwar Rao

Charities Aid Foundation India (CAF), New Delhi

We are thankful to Charities Aid Foundation India, in particular Ms. Bidisha Basu, and Mr. Anil

and team for promptly channeling contributions to NICE. CAF’s work with organizations spanning

9 countries greatly helps such organizations continue their good work. Employee contributions and

matching grants from Microsoft India totalled Rs. 48 Lakhs this year. This has been a huge help for

our organization.

Microsoft India Ltd. Hyderabad

Anuthara and Partha visited NICE school last year, and delivered a positive message about NICE to

other employees. Thanks to the canvassing of several employees such as Devidas Joshi, Pavan

Kumar Jayavarapu, Malampati Madhavi, T.Varalakshmi, Satya Kiran and others, NICE received

Rs. 48 Lakhs (24 Lakhs from Employees and 24 Lakhs matching) from Microsoft. Thanks to this,

we have started career counseling and are supporting the college and educational expenses of

children who are continuing higher studies after graduating from NICE.

M.P.C.R Memorial Charitable Trust

M.V. Krishna Reddy, Founder has been donating 1.8 Lakhs annually to NICE School for the last 3

years. He also runs a charitable school for slum children in Yellammabanda, Hyderabad that

provides free education for 300 children. He supports several poor engineering children for their

education and gives scholarships to merit and needy students. M.V. Krishna Reddy and M.V. Rami

Reddy of the trust are also involved in lot of social issues and fund several NGOs working on RTI,

Good Governance and Health.

Your Inner Soul Inc, USA

Dr. Yalamanchili Vani from Your Inner Soul visited NICE and spread the name of NICE to her

colleagues and friends who organized fund raising events in USA. She has donated Rs. 4.94 lakhs

for the entire expenditure for girl children. We express our special thanks to Dr. Yalamanchili Vani,

Dr. Yalamanchili Prasanna Lakshmi and Murali.

N.T.T. Data, Hyderabad

N.T.T Data has been supporting NICE for the last 7 years. This year they again contributed Rs. 3

lakhs. All team members from NTT Data who visited NICE School were highly appreciative of the

work being done

S.B.H Hyderabad

Director and Board member of SBH, Mr. Venkat Changavalli visited NICE School, and

spontaneously donated Rs. 2 lakhs. Thanks to his referral, his colleagues, staff and CSR group

donated another 2 lakhs for NICE. A number of his family members have also contributed for this

cause.

Net Enrich Technologies Pvt. Ltd.

Under their CSR initiative, Net Enrich Technologies has been undertaking different activities for

deserving NGOs. Mr. C. Jagannath Raju, C.E.O is proactive in social service and their employees

are involved actively with NICE and other organizations. Special thanks to Ms. Sunitha (HR), Mr.

Aravind Kumar (Finance), and Mr. P.V.S.N. Raju, for spreading the word about NICE in their

entire organization and gathering support for us. They have also increased their support from Rs.

1.5 Lakhs last year to Rs. 3 Lakhs this year.

Helping Indians

Helping Indians have been contributing Rs. 1.15 lakhs annually for 6 years. Mr. Gopal Gundam has

personally donated 1.15 lakhs and informed his friends Mr. Ranga Reddy and other team members

about the development of staff quarters. Together, they have all contributed Rs. 6 Lakhs this year.

IDPL 91 Batch

Ms. G. Saritha, who belongs to Hyderabad, and currently working in USA has been supporting

NICE for the past 4 years along with her friends and old schoolmates. They donated 1.25 lakhs to

NICE specifically for development of the girl’s campus.

Dilip Kuchipudi, TANA Foundation, USA

Mr. Dilip Kumar visited Mr. PurnaChandra Rao’s residence and reviewed the development and

growth of NICE. TANA has provided NICE support to the tune of $5000 this year. Mr. Dilip has

personally donated Rs. 60,000 towards PurnaChandra Rao’s personal expenses and for his

children’s educational expense. He promised to donate whenever there is such a need. He also

contributed for school uniforms for all the children of NICE and Ramakrishna Upper Primary

School in Kukatpally, Hyderabad and arranged special meals on one day for all the children.

Nannapaneni Neeraja, Ram Babu, USA

Looking up the website of NICE after watching Maa TV’s coverage and PurnaChandra Rao’s

interview in Idle Brain magazine, they have contributed the first salary from their job to NICE.

Their donation was worth Rs. 2.25 lakhs for children of NICE. They also celebrated their

daughter’s birthday at NICE.

S.L. Siva Raj, Nizamabad

Mr. Raj visited the school and inspired by the work being done and its performance, decided to

donate Rs. 1 Lakh.

Samidha Group

The children of Mr. Purnachander Rao, Secretary, NICE were supported by Samidha Group’s

contribution. We are thankful to Mr. Nagesh, and Mr. Satish, who started Samidha group and have

been contributing to NICE since their inception.
