Student Interactive Digital CurriculumScienceFusion’s Interactive Digital Curriculum is an award-winning, research-proven way to teach science in a familiar, engaging, online environment. Through continuous interaction via simulations, animations, videos, Virtual Labs, Video-Based Projects, and assessments, students are active participants in the learning process. Teachers can assign the lessons and resources to students, or use them on a digital whiteboard for whole-class or small-group instruction. All resources are available in English and Spanish.

Grade Level Resources:• Leveled Readers: Three levels are available for each unit to support

the full range of reading levels. The Online Leveled Readers with audio are designed to develop reading accuracy, fluency, and comprehension, challenging students to progress to the next reading level.

• Media Gallery: A comprehensive gallery of images from the Student Edition that can be used by teachers or students to create their own presentations and projects.

• Interactive Glossary: Provides program vocabulary and definitions with visuals and audio in both English and Spanish.

• Student Vocabulary Cards: Editable Vocabulary Cards, alphabetized as they appear in the Student Edition Glossary or organized by Student Edition unit, can be downloaded and printed. The front of each card shows the vocabulary term, the phonetic respelling (Grades 2–5), and the definition. The back of each card contains a short activity designed to help students understand and remember the meanings of vocabulary terms in the Student Edition.

Digital Lessons and Virtual Labs: With an alternative digital experience for every write-in textbook lesson, ScienceFusion’s highly engaging Digital Lessons and Virtual Labs teach the same content, vocabulary, and inquiry skills, but in a completely different way.

The Virtual Labs review important concepts developed in the previous lessons while providing students with the virtual equipment and procedural structure to complete investigations in a way not always practical with hands-on experiences. Student progress can be tracked using the Virtual Lab Recording Sheets, which can be saved and emailed or printed for assignment purposes.

This multimodal exposure to all content provides teachers with 200% coverage of state standards.

3

Unit Level Resources:• Online Student Edition: Provides students with anytime online

access to their print textbook with a direct audio read, as well as a variety of interactive whiteboard tools.

• NSTA® SciLINKS®: Found at point of use in each unit to extend and expand student understanding of unit concepts and skills. These resources are vetted by the scientific experts at NSTA, so you can be assured they are “safe surfing” for students.

• Unit Self Quizzes (Grades 1–5): The online unit self-assessment quiz is a fun, informative way to give students a view of their strengths and weaknesses.

• People in Science: A collection of multimedia biographies of scientists, historical and contemporary, featuring scientific careers of the past, present, and future.

• Student Edition Audio: Students can listen online or download full audio of their textbook to their mobile devices.

• Video-Based Projects (Grades 3–5): These inquiry-based projects, focusing on STEM, ecology, and biotechnology, consist of a video, teacher support pages, and student activity worksheets. Featuring program authors Mike Heithaus and Michael DiSpezio, these engaging, fun episodes reinforce unit concepts through interaction and are perfect for whole-class instruction on a whiteboard.

Lesson Level Resources:In addition to the eBook and audio, lesson resources include:• Extra Support for Vocabulary and Concepts: A digital-only

worksheet resource which contains extra practice of lesson vocabulary and main ideas.

• Inquiry Flipchart: Gives students online access to all of the hands-on inquiry options for every lesson.
