A message from Mr BarkerMany of us will remember a song from our Sunday School days that went ldquoJesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me sohelliprdquo You have probably just started to hum along to the tune now

Although this might be a childrenrsquos song we need to be reminded of the amazing truth that it tells especially at Easter time

Sometimes we can talk about our Christian faith in terms of how much we love Jesus and this is good However the real truth of our Christian faith is that Jesus loves us This personal never changing permanent love that Jesus has for me and every person who trusts in Him is the core of our faith Paul speaks of the enduring nature of this love in Romans 838-39

ldquoFor I am convinced that neither death nor life neither angels nor demons neither the present nor the future nor any powers neither height nor depth nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lordrdquo

What a comfort that my eternal safety is certain because of Jesusrsquo love for me and that it doesnrsquot depend on my love for Him Thank you Jesus

9 For this reason since the day we heard about you we have not stopped praying for you We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives[e] 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way bearing fruit in every good work growing in the knowledge of God - Colossians 1 9 -10

bull The message of Easter and its wondrous joy that death has been conquered for us often gets forgotten after Easter as life becomes busy again Pray that by the grace of God we will be continually filled with the full knowledge and understanding every day that Jesus died to pay the penalty for all our sins

bull Pray for the families who dont attend church regularly but who visited our local churches over Easter and heard the Gospel message Pray that this would plant a seed in their lives to encourage them to further seek out Jesus to be the savour of their lives

bull Pray for our Year 12 students as they receive the results from their half yearly exams Pray that they will find the feedback they are given helpful and will be able to re-focus and to prepare for the next exams

bull Continue to pray for those in our school community who are unwell injured or going through times of trial and suffering Pray for them to have Gods strength and encouragement to preserve through this season in their lives

Photography CompetitionWe are running an internal student photography competition for Years 5 - 12

The prize winners will receive a ticket to both the one day photography theory day (school hall on Saturday 21st May - this event is open to the public for all ages) and the two day practical excursion with Dee Kramer out and about photographing at locations around the Shellharbour and Kiama regions

School students who do not win the competition can still go to both these events on a pay your own way basis Parents from Tongarra Campus will also be allowed to attend on this excursion

Changes on how to apply for a Tax File Number The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) no longer processes tax file number (TFN) application forms for secondary studentsStudents can now apply for a tax file number (TFN) online and have their identity verified through an interview at a participating Australia Post Office
