From the Desk of the Director Summer has finally arrived and with it comes the perfect time for a change in the rhythm of reading. If you were required to read something serious for school or business, now is the time to relax and enjoy a good book simply for pleasure. When you visit our “New Books” section you will find an abundance of titles to enjoy. If you prefer an eBook, you can select from hundreds of titles to download to your smart phone, tablet, e-reader or computer. Make a Dog Bed for a Shelter Dog Tuesday, July 5 from 6:30-7:30 pm
Sign-up in progress for all
Tweens and Teens will make fleece dog beds for dogs in need. All
beds will be donated to a local animal shelter and all participants
will be awarded one hour of community service credit.
(Limit 20 - grades 6-12 only).

STRENGTH, FLEXIBILITY & BALANCE
We invite you to join your Library’s Yoga classes and experience this unique system of exercise. Beginners and experienced students are al-ways welcome. You may work at your own level. Firm, tone and strengthen your body while reducing stress. It is best not to eat within 2 hours before the start of class. Please dress comfortably and bring a tapas yoga mat, a tie or strap, 2 yoga blocks and a small throw pillow. Classes run continuously (unless otherwise noted) throughout the year. PLEASE NOTE: This course is not appropriate for pregnant women. Limit 18

DOG BISCUITS FOR DONATION Thursday, August 18 7-8:30pm

Dogs love biscuits - especially fresh, handmade ones! Earn 1 hour of community service credit when you make the
dough and shape the dog biscuits here at the library and then take them home to bake them. You will also decorate a
bakery box that will be used when you bring the completed dog treats to a local animal shelter. (Limit 30—grades 6-12)

This course for drivers 50 years of age & older is given in one 8-hour session, including a break for lunch. You will also be eligible for per-centage discounts on your insurance premiums. If only one spouse is 50 years of age or older, you may both register for this course but you must attend together. Pay $20, $25 if non-member, at registration with undated checks or money orders made payable to AARP. If two are attending, we must receive undated checks from each individual wish-ing to attend. Please note that the fee is non-refundable. IMPORTANT: If you are an AARP member, you must writ e your membership # on your check to receive the reduced r ate. Also, please bring your driver’s license & a black or blu e ink pen.

Free Technology Instruction for Adults! Students from Plainedge High School will be available to assist you with all your technology inquiries. Suggested topics include uploading pictures from your camera, downloading e-books, iPad instruction, using databases, reserving library

History Alive! Share your knowledge of our library and community with students from the Plainedge High School. Local
students look forward to conducting interviews (on Monday evenings) with you to assist us in creating a project for our Local History Room. Photographs to donate are highly encouraged, but not required. Sign up June 1. Interview evenings will be 7/11, 18, 25 or 8/1.

Young children who attend with their parents can play while their parents talk and ask questions. One-to-one Q &A’s included. There will be a short presentation about each topic and there will be resources available. Please register under the parent’s name, not the child’s.

Entering 2nd-5th grades in September. This is a drop off program .
Create silly lips using Perler Beads. A lollipop is attached, so as you enjoy your lollipop, it looks like you have

The annual meeting of reorganization will be held on July 1 at 2pm, followed by a General Board Meeting. There is no Board Meeting in August. All meetings are open to residents of the community and all interested individuals are invited to attend.
