Alexander Rose - At the forefront of outdoor furniture design and manufacturing since 1994.

Alexander Rose at the Independent Hotel Show

As one of the leading outdoor furniture manufacturers in the UK, Alexander Rose have developed a wide range of contract furniture suitable for all aspects of hotel interiors and exteriors, restaurants, spas and leisure resorts. A key product focus for this year’s Independent Hotel show was the Roble (pronounced roh- bley) Tivoli collection and the Broadfield armchair, the first outdoor hardwood chair designed with a curved slat back designed to provide maximum comfort.

Both these products are regularly specified for use in hotels, clubs and restaurants due to their durability, comfort and resistance to frost, sun, rain and temperature fluctuations making them an ideal choice for low maintenance outdoor use.

Tivoli furniture is made in the Alexander Rose factory in Bolivia from the highest grade Roble hardwood using only 100% FSC pure timber from managed forests in the region. Roble is a sustainable hardwood that is robust, stronger and more durable than alternative woods. The design of these highly versatile and practical collection of tables, armchairs, stacking chairs, benches and sunbeds is instantly recognized by its precise angles and horizontal slats. Roble comes in an attractive light yellow brown that naturally weathers to a beautiful silvery grey and has life span of 25 years plus and a warranty of 10 years.

Become a Garden Furniture Designer

We are delighted to launch our first UK design competition which provides students on full time BA, BSc and Postgraduate Furniture and Product Design Courses to put on their thinking caps and come up with new and exciting ideas for outdoor furniture.

Colleges are encouraged to promote this competition as part of their curriculum and as a live industry-based project that will provide young designers with substantial real work experience. The entries will be judged by Alexander Rose staff and a panel of distinguished industry professionals including Diarmuid Gavin, one of the UK’s leading Garden Designers and a Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medallist and Jonathan Hindle FCSD, from the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers.

The winning student will have the opportunity to see his or her design manufactured in the Alexander Rose factory and secure a five year contract with a royalty fee payment on sales of their design. 2nd and 3rd runner-up students will be offered all expenses paid trips to major outdoor furniture exhibitions in Cologne and Birmingham to learn more about the industry at first hand.

The three short-listed designs will be announced 1st week in April 2014 and their concept designs will be displayed at the Chelsea Flower Show in May 2014.

We are also delighted to announce that Georgia Hamson, Sales Representative for the South East region and Alan Morley, Head of Design, are both celebrating 10 years dedicated service with Alexander Rose. Their expertise and commitment to the company has been invaluable and we wish them a long and prosperous future with us over the next 10 years.

One of our customers recently contacted us who had purchased a chair from Alexander Rose in 1994 and after 20 years one of the slats has broken. We are now sending him a new slat free of charge.
