MMC (Medical Male Circumcision) Campaign underway The Hospital took an initiative in the promotion of healthy lifestyle and reduction of sexu-ally transmitted diseases. Our professionals played an important role in carrying out these procedures as they worked for the MMC campaign. OPERATION S IYAZENZELA
O peration Siyazenzela was a campaign whereby the staff members took a co-operative initiative and invited the stake holders, members of the public and the board members for the project. The project entails the cleaning of the hospital by all staff members from management to general workers. The vibe on the day enhanced the staff working relations or team building as they combined to achieve
one particular goal of a clean environment. The cleaning that took place that day was just a beginning of new things as the vision of the hospital is to become the hospital of choice. As we serve the public we wish to see our clients feeling at home as they are welcomed by the cleanliness when they enter our premises, of which it will create the emotional effect of health and safety. This movement Operation Siyazenzela is another form of giving hope to our clients as they will be assisted in a clean environment as cleanliness is next to godliness. On the day, the wards and grounds were taken care of by the staff and the public as the hospital is theirs. This rela-tionship between the hospital staff and the public was another form of building and strengthening relations between the hospital staff and the general public.

Mandela’s 67 minutes
A s hospital staff we took part in the Mandela 67 minutes of which was co-ordinated by the social workers, Sr Msane, maintanance, Mr Jiyane, PRO, and the community members . The initiative was to prepare a garden for the 67 minutes project, the food that will be produced will received by the needy. Sibusisiwe isandla esiphayo kunesamkelayo; this project is another form of giving back
to the community. The project took less than 67 minutes as the co-relation between the staff was at high value. The excitement between the staff that was involved in this project showed ubuntu that the staff consist of as they work whole heartedly. The exchanging of garden tools as work took place one could imagine if this was their daily jobs.
E verybody that participated took turns as they were working together in making the garden to look neat. As Dr Nelson Mandela always worked for the community this event also reflect the good we grasped from him. This 67 minutes of making the garden was a sign of showing appreciation on our daily jobs and took time to be involved. Plants are a sign of hope and development so the garden as
it is shows that we want to see development within our poverty stricken community. On the other hand we require the community to reflect on this and be able to do it for themselves as they are the ones responsible for their growth and development or destinies. Working together with community members helps also to really inter-act with them directly so as to be able to identify their daily struggles and complaints they forward to our departments.
