Association 'Novi Homines' ('New man') is non-profit organization which main aims are:
* Promote citizenship;
* Increase civil participation in society life of different social groups;
* Facilitate former prisoners' integration into community activities and labor market;
* Decrease unemployment of socially excluded groups;
* Enhance integration into the labor market of socially unrepresented groups,
* Participate in public educational projects.
We have organized
non-formal education
activities
(themes of citizenship, career guidance, legal
knowledge basics)
and other social projects for children, students, elderly people, as well
as adult learners, prison inmates, prison
administrative staff, police administrative
staff.
Novi Homines' has been successfully cooperating with various public authorities Police, Prisons Department, Municipalities, courts, other), business institutions, NGOs, universities and educational institutions.

Aims of the project
Initiation of intercultural dialogue by bringing European cicizens of different nationalities and different languages together and by giving them opportunity to participate in common activities
Project activities
Debates, conferences, direct encountering, workshops, initiated role-model conversations and simulative situations related to civic dialogue with convicts and related people
Expected results*Increased convicts citizenship, involvement in political activities, democrasy and elections; increased volunteering;
*Improved public attitudes to those who came out of the prisons, reduced unemployment, discrimination, social differences;
*Productive civic dialogue between convicts and related persons about current problems, achievements and future vision of European Union;
*Conveyed values of human dignity, freedom, equality and solidarity, that are stated in Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union;

Breaking Bars Employment' general purpose is to promote the empowerment, the development of personal and social skills and social and professional inclusion of inmates and ex-offenders.

Expected results of the 'Breaking Bars' events are:
*Promoted and enabled the personal development of the inmate , increasing his motivation, self-esteem, self-concept and the empathetic attitude;*Inmates able to do an effective job search;*Increased social reintegration of inmates and their integration into the labour market;*Sharing of tools and strategies for creating one’s own job;*Provided mentoring and monitoring during and after the time of seclusion.

European Prison Education Association - Malta BranchKnowledge partner.Firstly, The EPEAMB together with University of Malta could organize Research 'Volunteered when I was in prison. My life is different now'. Secondly, together with the Employment and Training Corporation (national semi-autonomous employment agency) could take part in Conference presenting theme 'Career development programs in corrections'. Finally, The EPEAMB could take over all dissemination activities in all EPEA member countries.

1. Conference 'Career development programs in corrections'. Subthemes:
The influence of career orientation on support,
Comprehensive programming focusing on career development issues is a method by which recidivism rates may be reduced - research review;
Why Apply Vocational Psychology to Criminal Justice Populations?;
Currently there is a need for more concerted attention to career development in corrections settings. During this conference, specialist from different areas will share experience.
Expected results of the conference are:
*The project present prisoners with benefits of career development;
*Encourage to plan and act their own path of career;
*Promote employment activities in prisons;
*Widen the debate about the value of Career development programs in corrections in a society.
Target audience:
Prison inmates, convicted persons, ex-prisoners;
Socially isolated groups: female prisoners, gypsies, children, risk families, alcoholics, addicts, high-risk suicidal inmates, people with disabilities, minorities;
General public;
Imprisonment institutions, NGOs, volunteers, municipalities, social departments, universities, etc.

2. Guided tour to jail and public discussion 'On the Other Half of the Barricades'.
The tour and public discussion are indicatory as all participating countries will organize same guided tours. Presenting operating principles, the current regime, issues raised on the agenda of the convicts and career opportunities in statutory service. Visiting the library, chapel, recreation rooms, etc.
