Message from the President…

We welcome Sorrento FC President Derek Harnwell, players, officials and

supporters to Inglewood Stadium today. We welcome back our loyal supporters, committee members, officials and sponsors.

We look forward to an exciting 3 games today and hopefully IUSC can pick up the well needed 3 points, in saying that Sorrento are always super competitive and have well drilled teams.

Please all enjoy the day. President

Luke Martin

Hello and Welcome to Inglewood United Stadium. The last few weeks has seen our Senior Club President Luke Martin, our club Technical Director Goran Stajic and myself take part in a football experience in Vallodolid Spain. Taking a group of juniors on this experience is something that not many junior players will ever experience and something that this club can pride itself in offering.Hopefully in coming years we shall see this venture expand and we see more opportunities for our juniors to experience this football trip of a lifetime. This Sunday May 3rd sees the mini roos kick off again after the holiday break. This sees the home ground at full capacity and every bit of pitch space taken up completely. We encourage every Inglewood member to come down and support our Juniors on what promises to be a big day as our NPL juniors will also being playing along with development teams. We are so impressed with how our development teams are going and they are a pleasure to watch. The Junior canteen is thriving and is being well attended. A big thank you goes out to all the volunteers that have contributed so far and enjoyed being part of the club. I am looking forward to seeing everyone as they filter through the canteen roster. It is good fun.Enjoy the games today and drop in on a Sunday to see our juniors perform.

We are Inglewood.

Today we welcome Sorrento to Inglewood. Looking back at the last couple of games, we played out another 1-1 draw, our third consecutive, against Balcatta, and a 2-0 defeat to Bayswater in the FFA Cup. Whilst our performance against Balcatta was very good, we were unable to convert our chances and get the result we deserved. The team has been playing well without converting our performances into wins, but if we continue to play and execute as we have, I’m confident the results will come. Unfortunately against Bayswater the game came down to a soft penalty which was the only thing that separated both teams on the day.

Again it was a case of not taking our chances. The second goal came about in the dying stages of the game where we threw numbers forward to chase the game, leaving us short at the back.

The players have performed well in the last month and each game has seen a steady improvement.

We have been challenged by the top 4 teams from last season, and barring the first game, we have been unlucky to not win a couple of them.

Today will prove to be another tough test as Sorrento are well coached and always tough to play against.

We will need to be at our best today and look to continue making forward progress. Best wishes to all teams today

Thank You,

I would like to welcome the Members, Sponsors, Players, Coach’s & Supporters from Inglewood United and Sorrento Football Club to Inglewood Stadium for the fifth round of the 2015 WA NPL season. We had Balcatta Football Club in round 4 of the league. The final result was 6-3 to us with Davide Panaia scoring 4 goals whilst Marc Eldridge & David Dias had one each. We controlled the game for most parts but we conceded some soft goals and could have been a bit more ruthless upfront. That has been the story of the season so far and I know everyone involved in the team are looking for a clean sheet. There is still plenty of work to be done with the 20’s squad, but with the commitment, work rate and belief in the 20’s squad, I believe and look forward to seeing the team and the individuals within the team grow and strive to fulfill the goals we have set.

All the best to both teams for the game & for the 2015 season.

What is Prehabilitation? Prehabilitation is essentially a preventive training program to minimise players’ injuries before they happen. Most semi-professional & all professional clubs have these types of programs

The three phases needed to come up with a good prehabilitation plan are: 1. analysing an uninjured player’s posture, joint alignment, flexibility, muscle control, biomechanics, core stability and movement patterns, 2. understanding the risks of the sport itself, and 3. consideration of the player’s position.

Prehabilitation helps players to:• correct muscle length imbalance, joint alignment and flexibility• normalise core stability (upper, lower and left vs right)• enhance muscle endurance, strength and power• boost movement pattern efficiency. All the above analysis & assistance will allow whatever the age of the player to optimise both training & playing performance. Hi All, Welcome to another U18 NPL game at Inglewood United. After a less than ideal start to the season, the Under 18’s team is looking for a strong performance, and a result to match, to get our season back on track. In the recent cup game against Bayswater, rather than stand out individual efforts, there were some great moments from the team as collective. In particular the quick passing combinations around the oppositions 18 yard box were a pleasure to watch, as well as some strong set pieces which unfortunately didn’t result in as many goals as they deserved.

In the previous league and cup games the team have, in patches, performed at a high level, controlling the game for periods, but as of yet, have not thus far managed to turn that into dominance where it counts, the scoreboard. Consistency in the level of performance and capitalising on the goal scoring opportunities being created are areas that we are looking to improve and I expect to see the team taking a step forward in these areas in today’s game. Hope you enjoy the game.

ThanksDimitri Phylactou.Head Coach Inglewood United WA NPL U/20’s

Future player development at IUSC continues!Upon returning from Spain with what can only be described as a “Football tour of opulence” not only was the hospitality first class but the coaching was what you would expect from a footballing nation “World Class”. I would like to thank the club once again for their continuous youth football development focus. The Executive Committees continuous vision and the building of community support led by Luke Martin is synonymous with our late president Siggy Kramer’s legacy. The football friendship that is being formed on the other side of the world is paying dividends on the football development front and more importantly enabling our brand to reach people around the world. Last season I used a phrase which came to mind again whilst I was on tour “Too hot to handle” was the phrase. With my new position at Football Federation Australia I was able to watch some NSW football of late. Many of you, along with the youth football programs offered around Australia could possibly agree with my observation last year.My observation was that the ball seemed to be on fire hence “too hot to handle” came about, meaning get rid of it. Sitting on the sidelines last week in Sydney watching NPL Seniors all the way down to NPL U12s listening to coaches’ instructions, one would think that the ball is a gold bullion. There are very few coaches in WA that would coach their players to maintain possession of the ball yet in NSW that’s exactly what was encouraged.

Technical Director cont’

I am not proposing that we coach our players to not share the ball and become selfish. I am re-emphasising that we must remind our current and teach our future players to be competent with the ball at all times. Spain once again reminded me that as coaches we need to tell our players to cherish it, respect the situation, ultimately to understand when to attack and when to maintain possession by not forcing it but rather keeping the ball. Speaking to a NSW NPL Technical Director after the game he said this importance on player development has come from an understanding that our young players must begin to develop the necessary skills in order to truly master the game of football. The success of each player on the field is the target of the FFA National Curriculum and the NPL model is its shop window. As a club that endorses the NPL model, I am proud to say that our NPL coaches are embracing the philosophy and the clubs methodology, creation of the Inglewood Football Institute is steering us towards our master plan.

Finally with ANZAC day passing recently I feel it’s appropriate to reminisce and would once again like to dedicate ALL of Inglewood’s future developed player’s to the one and only Mr Inglewood Kiev (Siggy Kramer) may he continue to rest in peace. Thank you for the amazing facilities and may your name live on for ever & ever.

Yours in football,Goran Stajic_______________________NPL Technical DirectorAFC ‘B’ Licence53925038
