JGF’s partners include JFC customers, enthusiastic individual members of the JFC family, non-government organizations, local government units, national government agencies, academic institutions, other foundations and business institutions. During the event, JGF also launched the 10th Year Commemorative Book, which talks about the principles that the Foundation is built on and shares highlights of its journey thus far, alongside stories of 10 partners and partner-beneficiaries. JGF also produced the Stories of Change Videos, which highlight the compelling stories of three JGF partners. From the story of a military man who returned to his parents’ calamansi farm, to a teacher who understands that her role as an educator goes beyond the classroom, to a businessman whose personal bottom line goes beyond profits – these videos helped show stories of inspiring people that JGF has been privileged to work with. Launched in 2007, the Busog, Lusog, Talino (BLT) School Feeding Program aims to address hunger among public school pupils from Kinder to Grade 6, by providing them daily lunch, so they can stay in school and learn better.

The program harnessed the strengths of Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) in food service management, and promoted partnership among stakeholders to ensure effective program implementation and sustainability.

Since its launching, the BLT program has served 165,000 pupils from 1,567 schools in more than 200 municipalities across the country, through its 196 partners. It has also served as a model of effective public-private partnership in promoting educational attainment in the country.

BUSOG, LUSOG, TALINO SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAM

In 2015, Jollibee Group Foundation (JGF) held the first BLT Excellence Awards to honor exemplary performance of schools in implementing the BLT standards for food safety and quality, and their innovative approaches to working with the community to sustain the program. BLT challenges me as a principal:

what more can you do beyond BLT?

That is one uniqueness of BLT, not only does

it provide funds, it also grooms you to

do more. As a leader you lead by example.

I believe that a program will be

successful because of the collaborative

effort of our stakeholders.

Volunteer mothers prepare nutritious meals in the BLT Kitchen for public elementary school pupils in Capas, Tarlac

“ JGF, in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Local Government Unit of Capas, Tarlac launched the BLT Kitchen in September 2015.

It was a pilot initiative that supported the implementation of DepEd’s School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP). The first BLT Kitchen was set up in Capas Gabaldon Elementary School, which served five schools.

The successful pilot project was made possible through effective inter-agency collaboration. JGF established the kitchen facility in the school, while the LGU provided funds for the parents’ medical check-up and daily transportation. Funds for the feeding program came from the DepEd SBFP budget. The five participating schools were responsible for overseeing daily operations while parent volunteers prepared meals and allocated portions for distribution to the satellite schools and their pupils. JGF will continue to work with partners to build more BLT Kitchens across the country.

As a Barangay Health Worker, it pains me to see hungry children in my

community. This is why I volunteer my time to projects like this. We are used

to doing this without expecting anything in return. It warms my

heart to know that I am able to help.

In 2008, Jollibee Group Foundation (JGF) initiated the Farmer Entrepreneurship Program (FEP) together with partners to improve smallholder farmers’ income by linking them to the supply chain of institutional markets such as Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC).

Since its launch, FEP has facilitated the training of 1,816 smallholder farmers on agro-enterprise development and enabled 20 farmer groups to deliver to 20 institutional markets including JFC.

Starting 2015, JGF focused on 12 farmer groups that deliver white onions, salad tomatoes, green bell peppers, Taiwan hot peppers, calamansi, cabbage, Baguio beans, sayote, Chinese cabbage (pechay) and carrots to JFC. Their transactions reached a combined total of 950 metric tons, amounting to more than PhP43 million in value.

sa buhay ko dahil sa

programa na ito. Sa pamamagitan

ng mga training, natutunan ko kung paano

makisalamuha sa iba't-ibang tao kahit mga

institutional buyer at kung paano mag-handle ng

isang kooperatiba. Nakikita ko na unti-unting umaangat

'yung kabuhayan namin. Masasabi ko na pagdating

ng araw, may maayos na kinabukasan akong

maibibigay sa aking mga anak.

Many things have changed in my life because of this program. Through the trainings

I attended, I learned how to deal with different people even institutional buyers, and

how to handle a cooperative. I can see that our lives are gradually improving.

I am hopeful that in time, I can provide my children a better future.

FEP as a Model for Inclusive Business

In previous years, JGF has had the opportunity to share its FEP experience and learn about the practices of other organizations in various fora such as the CSR Asia Summit organized by CSR Asia in Hong Kong and the Harvard Asia Business Conference in Boston, Massachusetts both held in 2014; and Deusto University’s Global Dialogues on Sustainable Business held in Bilbao, Spain in 2013. For 2015, JGF sustained its participation in local and international dialogues to gain new insights and continuously improve the implementation of FEP. This included the Livelihoods Asia Summit in India, Credit Suisse Philanthropy Forum, and the Roundtable on Inclusive Agribusiness in Southeast Asia held in Vietnam. FEP was cited as a model for Inclusive Business in setting up the government-initiated Negosyo Centers, while Pres. Benigno Aquino III mentioned the program as an example of enabling small farms to sell produce directly to institutional markets at the APEC Small and Medium Enterprises Summit 2015.

The Foundation helped me financially and also improved my confidence
