Our music video and Goodwin’s Theory

How does our music video differ or is similar to Goodwin’s theory?

Page 2: Our music video & Goodwin's theory

Summary of Goodwin’s theory

• Pop songs use singer as the narrator & character

• Singer looks at the camera• Pop songs are repetitive• Disjuncture, illustration, amplification

Page 3: Our music video & Goodwin's theory

How our music video links to the theory

• Our artist is always looking at the camera through out our music video to really engage with the audience

• There’s no clear beginning, middle or end• Anuli, our performer, narrates the story through her lyrics but also

performs it as a character too (her emotion in the bridge of the song)

• The music video is repetitive because we see tones of base tracks• Our music video is an amplification because the meaning of the

song is over-emphasized• Also, it has bits of illustrative elements because we see the artist

with her boy and she is getting bored (this illustrates what she is singing)
