Our School Values: RESPECT, RESILIENCE, TEAMWORK & COLLABORATION and COMMUNITY Dear Parents, HUNTLY KINDERGARTEN REDEVELOPMENT As a member of the Huntly community you may be aware of the need for the Huntly Kindergarten to relocate to another site whilst the Huntly Kindergarten redevelopment project occurs. The Huntly Kindergarten was to relocate to the Epsom Community Church believing it was the best fit after much consultation. The Huntly Kindergarten was however recently advised that they are not able to temporarily relocate to the Epsom Community Church as it is located within an Industrial Zone (IN1Z) and as such are not permitted to run a kindergarten program from the premises. As a result the kindergarten re-reviewed its shortlisted options and approached Huntly Primary School as a possible option for relocation. After consultation with our school council and school staff I can advise that we have reached an in-principle agreement with the Huntly Kindergarten to run the kindergarten program from within the school. There are still a number of steps required to take place before the agreement is formalised. I am extremely confident should approval be reached with all stakeholders we can provide the kindergarten with the facilities to ensure they continue to deliver a safe and high quality kindergarten program for their community members. If you have any queries regarding the relocation of the Huntly Kindergarten, please dont hesitate to contact me. 2019 STUDENT ATTITUDES TO SCHOOL SURVEY We value student voice as a means to improving student engagement, wellbeing and quality instruction and are conducting a survey to find out what your child thinks of our school. The Attitudes to School Survey is an annual student survey offered by the Department of Education and Training to assist schools in gaining an understanding of students' perceptions and experience of school. Our school will use the survey results to plan programs and activities to improve your child's schooling experience. Students from years 4 to 6 at our school will participate in the survey between Monday 29 th April and 17 th May. Your child will complete the survey online during school hours using a purpose built secure online survey tool. The survey only takes 20 minutes to complete and occurs during your child's class time. All responses to the survey are kept anonymous. Personal identification data will not be recorded in the survey response file. This ensures that the confidentiality of your childs responses is protected at all times. The survey results will be reported back to the school before the end of term 2. All survey data that is made available in reports are for groups of students only so that no individual student can be identified. AFTER-SCHOOL PARKING There is a lack of parking around the school and I am currently considering what options we have to rectify this situation. Having said that can I ask families to abide by the parking restrictions located in both Gungurru Rd and Brunel St. Parking inspectors from time to time will be in our area and I do not want to see anyone fined. This fee goes towards their class materials, art supplies, computer costs, printing and photocopying. If you have not yet paid your child’s Essential Item Fee, this is due now. Please note this is not a voluntary contribution and must be paid. The Ground Maintenance Fee of $20 is a voluntary contribution and payment of this fee would be greatly appreciated.
