DearBrothersandSistersinChrist,

Overthepastyear,ourNaturalChurchDevelopmentteamhasworkedonwaystoimprovethelovingrelationshipsinthe

parish.Iwanttohighlightsomeofthemforyou,aswehavebeguntoimplementthem.

First,the“ThankYou”boxintheloungehasalreadybeengettinggooduse.Anyonewhowouldliketothanksomeoneintheparishfortheireffortscanputacardintheboxwiththeperson’snameandwhattheyshouldbethankedfor.WehaveasmallteamofpeoplewhoregularlychecktheboxandsendoutthankyounotesonbehalfofSt.John’s.

Second,wehopetointentionallythankthoseservinginthedifferentministriesofthechurch.OnMother’sDay,werecognizedtheEpiscopalChurchWomenwithablessingduringtheserviceandasmallgift.Throughouttheyear,wewilltakethetimetohonoravarietyofpeoplewhoministerindifferentwaystoourparishandthoseweserve.

Third,ourNCDteamidentifiedhealthyconflictresolutionassomethingthatweasachurchneededtoworkon.DuringLent,IgaveasermonserieslookingatChristianconflictresolutionfromavarietyofperspectives.TheVestryhasalsoapprovedabookletoutliningSt. John’s Conflict Resolution Process.ThisbookletwillbepassedoutatchurchatthebeginningofJune,butanyonewhois

Fiske has had a number of people over the past few weeks working on the mortar and control joints in the Allen hall tower, the office windows, the stone stairs outside of the office and the narthex, and preparing the foundation for the sign. It is all coming along pretty well.

Wearealsobeginningtheprocessoftransitioningtonewdatabaseandaccountingprograms.Wehavebeenusingourcurrentprogramsforawhile,anditistimeforanupgrade.Tinawillbeworkinghardonthisconversion,andKeithRowlandsandNickBaronhavealsobeeninstrumentalinhelping.Specialthanks,too,gotoBobEdeburn,whohaskeptourfinancesinshapeandbeenourin-houseaccountingresourceformanyyears.

Finally,awordofcongratulationstoourgraduatesAaronErimias,MaxBaron,andDozieEzi-Ashi.I’mgratefulforallyouhavecontributedtoSt.John’s.CongratulationstoBobDisko’sgranddaughter,BethanyWallace.MayGodcontinuetowatchoveryouandblessyouinthecomingyears.

OnJune4th,PentecostSunday,Iinviteyoutosingwithusasweproclaim“AllAreWelcome”inouropeninghymn.Iputthemusicinthebulletintomakeiteveneasier.Also,Ithinkyouwillenjoyhearingarepriseof“ComeDown,OLoveDivine”byCharlesBeaudrotwherethechoircallstheHolySpiritdownfromtheheavensandintoourheartsandparish.
