The Most Famous Artist of the 20th CenturyFull Name: Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Clito Ruiz y Picasso Born October 25, 1881 –Died April 8, 1973.
Biography• PICASS0 was born in
Málaga on the 25th of October 1881.
• His father was a painter and he taught arts
• Started to paint very young and when he was fourteen years old started a proper arts school in Barcelona.
• In 1901 moved to Paris and he started to make sculptures and also designed clothes for theatre.
• In 1907 paints “Les demoiselles d’Avignon” that was the beginning of CUBISM.
• PICASSO was a sculptor, ceramics, drawer, poet, mask maker...
• He was greatly recognised during his life.
• He died in Paris in 1973.

• Picasso is considered the greatest artist of the 20th century and one of the most influent in the development of modern art.
• There are more than 1500 of his works in museums around the world.
Picasso’s periods
Picasso’s blue periodPicasso used blue colours, all his works are very sad. In this pictures there are long figures mainly from tramps and street people.
Picasso’s Pink period
This is a happier period, Picasso paints clowns and circus scenes using brighter colours.
Cubism
Picasso looks for a pure paint and he starts by observing objects in an intellectual way in his study. He paints the objects looking for the basic geometric shapes in it.
Surrealism
In this period Picasso uses deformed shapes, representing monsters and mythological figures, His sculptures were made of metallic threads and cards.
EXPRESIONISM -El Guernica-Picasso shows his hate of war and the bombing of Guernica’s population during the Spanish civil war.
