The school is simply passing on information from the Rockhamp- ton Touch Association as a community building exercise. Therefore the school does not provide supervision at this venue before, during or after these games or at any training sessions. Children participating in this competition are under their parents’ supervision as with all other weekend sporting activities. The school recommends that, if parents cannot remain at the touch fields or training, they ensure their children are appropriately su- pervised by another adult at all times. If a child’s behaviour while wearing the school uniform at such an event is not appropriate, then permission, for that child to wear the uniform on weekends, may be reviewed . Have a great week. Curriculum Corner Term 3 Week 4 Ms Jennie Harris APC (Assistant Principal – Curriculum) Life Education Van The Life Education van is visiting our school from Monday the 1st to Friday 12th August. All students will have the opportunity to visit the van and learn about mak-ing smart life choices for a healthy future. They will receive a workbook which will be used in health lessons later this term. Parents and carers can find out what their children are learn-ing in the mobile classroom by going to the parent section of the Life Education website http://www.lifeeducation.org.au/what-your-child-learned and click on the link for the relevant lesson (ie Harold’s Mystery Tour). You might also like to read over the 'conversation starter' ideas so that you can car-ry on discussing the lessons at home. There are also some fun and engaging online and offline activities you can do with your children as well as articles, tips and strategies on health and safety issues, and free apps to download. The Life Edu-cation program is a non profit, non government organization that relies on the community for support. To help raise mon-ey and continue the good work this program offers we will be selling some merchandise. There is a small basket of sample products in the school office so parents and students can see the items. If you are interested we ask that parents send cor-rect money in an envelope clearly labelled with their child’s name, class and order details. The Educator will collect these from the school office and leave the ordered products. These premium quality products are competitively priced with all proceeds supporting your local Life Education Centre. PARENTING IDEAS The topic for this week is… parentingideas.com.au Getting a grip on worry-warts As parents we often grapple with our own worries but one of the most common questions I get asked by mums and dads is ‘what do I do when my child seems overly worried or anxious?’ Click here to read more.

BOOK WEEK BOOK SWAP As part of our Book Week celebrations in week 7 our school community is invited to take part in a Book Swap. Students and parents are invited to bring along a book that they are ready to pass on to a new owner. Our greatest requests for books last year were be-ginning novels.
