RESPECT THE DIGNITY OF EACH PERSON

dents involved is displayed near the back door of the office. Good luck to all who entered!

What we learnt from Questacon? On the 31

st May we went to the Shell Questacon Science

Circus. We saw some really incredible science experiments. My favourite experiment was the one where we had to build an arched bridge and someone had to walk across it. Then we had to take the middle brick off the bridge and it col-lapsed. Next the lady blew into a straw and it made a low sound. After that Jace started cutting the straw shorter and shorter and the noise became higher and louder. I enjoyed the Shell Questacon Science Circus because I learnt that guessing and asking questions are part of becoming a Scien-tist. Madison Year 2 Last Wednesday we went to a ‘Science Circus’ called Questacon. We learnt some super cool science experiments like making music and testing how shapes have different strengths. Some people were chosen to be volunteers. We received free tickets to see Questacon at the CQ University on the weekend and they are also touring around Australia. We really enjoyed having Questacon coming to our school and showing us science experiments. Lily H, Miley & Harriet Year 4 This morning the 5s and 6s visited the hall to watch Kristen and Maddy present the amazing Questacon Science Circus. First, we talked about sound, vibration and sound waves; we experimented with different objects to see if it made a high or low sound. Next, we talked about the digestive system and I learnt many new things like there is a tube in us that is called the oesophagus. Lastly, we learnt about structures and what a strong shape is and what is not. I found out that a triangle is a strong shape. My favourite bit was that we built a bridge and Ryan walked on it successfully. The next one was risky as Kirsten stood on four light bulbs attached to a piece of cardboard. Surprisingly it did not break. Overall I really liked it because it was so much fun! Jolie Year 6 Term 3 Events Next term is shaping up to be busy once again. Please see attached the Term 3 Events Table. Have a lovely week! Ms Harris

Making Jesus Real On Sunday we celebrated the birthday of our Church, the feast of Pentecost. The disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit and sent out to spread the Word of God. This week we will be revisiting the MJR concept of searching for the hero inside as we challenge the children to also spread the Word of God through their actions. VALUE OF THE WEEK – Courage We are highlighting the virtue of courage this week. The Ho-ly Spirit gives us the gift of courage to face the challenges of our daily life as we strive to be the best person we can be.

PREFERRED METHODS OF REPORTING ABSENTEES At 10am each day, the school sends a text message to parents of any children who are absent without explanation. To ensure that our office staff are aware of your child’s absence please use one of the following means: 1. Skoolbag app 2. Email: [email protected] ( office staff will forward the email to class teachers and also mark them absent with ex-

planation. Teachers don’t also get the opportunity to read emails once they arrive at school) 3. Phone the office For a recurring absence: It is a good idea to let the teacher know, but please also let the office know so we can enter into the roll. This can be done ahead of time by the office staff also.
