Thank you again! Each week, we thank you via the Pulpit Announcements for your generosity and support and we are so very appreciative for all of your sacrifices. Have you noticed how some of your dollars have been used in recent weeks? All of the kneelers in the church have been recovered and we are pleased at the new look and comfort

they provide. So again, we THANK YOU for your continuous support as we move forward with the refurbishing that needs to be done to keep St. Mary’s beautiful! God bless! ____________________________________________________________________

A Note from Father Benny: What can we do to promote vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life? In conjunction with the Bishop’s request to “pray to the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into his harvest” (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2), I invite you to sign up to join our Vocation Cooperator’s Group … a group dedicated to pray and work for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. We plan to meet once a month to pray for vocations; come pray with me. People say that we need priests and we want priests, and they wonder what they can do. Well, what we can all do, from the age of reason to those who are centenarians and older, is to pray! Please call the Parish Office to sign up. Thank you! ____________________________________________________________________

Mass Book Opening We will be following last year’s procedure since it worked out so well. On May 8th, parishioners may call the office (732-545-5090, Ext. 104) to request an appointment for when to come in to schedule and pay for their masses. When calling, please be sure to speak clearly, leaving your name and phone number so that we may return your call. As usual, this will be on a first-call, first-serve basis; appointments will be given in the order the calls were re-ceived. Appointments will be given over a two-day period: Wednesday - May 15th & Thursday - May 16th.

(Please note: NO phone calls will be accepted before May 8th. Parishioners may select 3 weekend masses (this includes Saturdays) and 2 weekday masses. No exceptions will be made. Payment for masses must be made at the time of scheduling. Homebound parishioners and our staff members’ requests will be taken on May 13th. Homebound parishioners may give their mass inten-tions and payment to Sr. Frances when she comes to visit, or they may call the Parish Office starting May 13th. The mass intentions will only be accepted with pay-ment. Please note that the dates and times are not guaranteed.

Please do not call the office to have the secretaries save dates for you; this is not permitted and will not be done. Once the two-day procedure is complet-ed, you may come in to schedule more masses. ** Please note: The diocese has given permission for mass intentions to be

shared during two weekday masses only.**

Reflecting on the Word – (John 21:1-19) The bounty of this catch of fish portrays that God will provide disciples with what is needed as they go out to feed the people. How often do we withhold the nourishment of time, attention, and affection pleading that we barely have enough to feed ourselves? As we nurture others, we rely on the abundance that God gives. ______________________________________________________________________

Quote “God is love and He loves you and we are precious to Him. He called us by our name. We belong to Him. He has created us in His image for greater things. God is love, God is joy, God is light, God is truth.” -Mother Teresa ________________________________________________________________

Food for Thought We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won't need to tell anybody it does. Live in such a way that His Light shines through us. ______________________________________________________________________

stewards of God’s grace in its various forms

Rev. Robert Santa Barbara Memorial Scholarship

Father Bob was a strong proponent of Catholic education and, after his passing a scholarship fund was established in his memory. It is available for Parish students who are or will be attending a Catholic High School. First awarded in 2012, the scholarship was based on an application process, academic record and an essay contest. The Committee will utilize this for-mat again this year. Presently, we are also soliciting funds which will allow us to perpetuate Father Bob’s commitment to Catholic education through these scholarships. This year, the Committee will award up to $1,500 to students that are attending or have been accepted to attend a Catholic High School for the 2019-2020 academic year. Applications for the scholarships are available in the vestibule of the church. The deadline for application submission is Monday, May 27, 2019. For those who wish to contribute to the fund, please take a form from the vestibule of the church and return it to the Parish Office with your contribution. Thank you! _____________________________________________________________

May 5, 2019 - 3rd Sunday of Easter “Peter was distressed that Jesus had said to him a third time, ‘Do you love me?’ and he said to him, ‘Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my sheep.’” (John 21:17) All of us are challenged to show our love for Jesus and others. Discern how God is calling you to use your time in prayer, your talent in charitable works and your treasure to assist those who in need. Remember that giving is an act of worship and helps ad-vance the mission of our parish and greater Church. _____________________________________________________________________
