ANNUAL COLLECTION FOR ST. JOSEPH’S

SEMINARY: This year, annual collection for St.

Joseph’s Seminary will be taken up on September 28 & 29,

ROSARY DURING THE MONTH OF

OCTOBER: October is a special Month for each

baptized Catholic Christian to pray the rosary with

devotion. Parents and guardians should assist their

children in this regard. We encourage families to pray the

Rosary together. Each Devotional Group in our parish will

be assigned a special day in the coming month of October

to lead the community in reciting a group Rosary in Church

before mass. May Mary Mother of the Most Holy Rosary

intercede for us. Amen.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED

SACRAMENT: Every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. up to 7:20

p.m. We have the exposition and adoration of the Blessed

Sacrament in the church before 7:30 p.m. Mass. We also

recite the rosary. Every Saturday we have mass at 7:00

a.m. in the First Floor Convent Chapel. Thereafter, follows

exposition of the Blessed Sacrament for adoration and ends

at 3:00 p.m. with Divine Mercy Chaplet and

2019 CHRISTMAS RAFFLE: Our parish organizes

four major fund raising activities in a year to ensure our

parish remains financially self-sustaining. In so doing, we

avoid the danger and implication of borrowing money to

maintain the parish. Our 2019 Christmas Raffle tickets are

being sold by designated members of the parish. Please

participate in promoting this activity by buying or selling

the raffle tickets to friends and relatives. Besides there are

great Prizes like 1st prize a trip to The Holy Land

(Jerusalem) (value $3000) , 2nd Prize – 55” TV, 3rd Prize

HOLY MATRIMONY PREPARATION

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Mr. Bartolo Carela and Ms.

El mayordomo en el Evangelio de hoy confronta la

realidad de que no puede seguir viviendo como ha

sido. El está bajo juicio. Debe dar cuenta de lo que ha

hecho.

Los explotadores de los pobres en la primera lectura de

hoy también están a punto de ser derribados, para ser

expulsados de sus estaciones. Siervos de mammon o

dinero, están tan enamorados de la riqueza que

reducen a los pobres a objetos; Desprecian las nuevas

lunas y los días de reposo, las celebraciones y los días

santos de Dios.

Su única esperanza es seguir el camino del

administrador. Él no es modelo de arrepentimiento.

Pero hace un cálculo prudente: usar sus últimas horas a

cargo de la propiedad de su amo para mostrar

misericordia a los demás y aliviar sus deudas.

Es un niño de este mundo, impulsado por un motivo

puramente egoísta: hacer amigos y ser bienvenido a las

casas de los deudores de su amo. Sin embargo, su

prudencia es recomendada como un ejemplo para

nosotros, los hijos de la luz. También debemos darnos

cuenta, como lo hace el mayordomo, de que lo que

tenemos no es sinceramente nuestro, sino que en

verdad pertenece a otro, nuestro Maestro.

Todo el mundo en el mundo no podría haber pagado la

deuda que le debemos a nuestro Maestro. Entonces lo

pagó por nosotros. Dio su vida en rescate por todos,

como escuchamos en la Epístola de hoy.

Dios quiere que todos se salven, incluso reyes y

príncipes, incluso los amantes del dinero. Pero no

podemos servir a dos maestros. Por su gracia, debemos

elegir ser, como cantamos en el Salmo de hoy, "siervos

del Señor".

Lo servimos usando lo que nos ha confiado para dar

limosna, para levantar a los humildes del polvo y las

montañas de este mundo. Con esto ganaremos lo que

es nuestro y seremos bienvenidos a las moradas

eternas, las muchas mansiones de la casa del Padre.

The steward in today’s Gospel confronts the reality that he

can’t go on living the way he has been. He is under

judgment. He must give account for what he has done.

The exploiters of the poor in today’s First Reading are also

about to be pulled down, to be thrust from their stations.

Servants of mammon or money, they’re so in love with

wealth that they reduce the poor to objects; they despise

the new moons and Sabbaths—the observances and holy

days of God.

Their only hope is to follow the steward’s path. He is no

model of repentance. But he makes a prudent

calculation—to use his last hours in charge of his master’s

property to show mercy to others, to relieve their debts.

He is a child of this world, driven by a purely selfish

motive—to make friends and be welcomed into the homes

of his master’s debtors. Yet his prudence is commended as

an example to us, the children of light. We too must

realize, as the steward does, that what we have is not

honestly ours, but in truth belongs to another, our Master.

All the mammon in the world could not have paid the debt

we owe our Master. So He paid it for us. He gave His life as

a ransom for all, as we hear in today’s Epistle.

God wants everyone to be saved, even kings and princes,

even the lovers of money. But we cannot serve two

masters. By His grace, we should choose to be, as we sing

in today’s Psalm, “servants of the Lord.”

We serve Him by using what He has entrusted us with to

give alms, to lift the lowly from the dust and dunghills of

this world. By this we will gain what is ours and be

welcomed into eternal dwellings, the many mansions of

the Father’s house.
