• Solar maps show outstanding potenLal forphotovolteic (PV) and concentraLng solarpower.
Solar PotenLal
• Average daily concentraLng solarradiaLon is within a range of 6-‐8.3kWh/m2/day and the average solarradiaLon for PV is within the range of6-‐8 kWh/m2day.

• This TA grant will assist the Tribe in evaluaLngthe most advantageous way to proceed with
4thinstallaLon of solar PV on the floor of theCasino Parking lot.
Solar Projects
• 2009 Solar Feasibility Study idenLfiedpotenLal for PV:– Tortuga Ranch– Government buildings
Solar Feasibility
• Southern Arizona provides over 300 days ofsunshine every year.
• This Study will look at the potenLal for usingsolar energy to offset power usage and forselling back to local uLlity.
PotenLal projects
TortugaRanch
• 6559.59 acres SW of the Pascua Pueblo reservaLon
• Rural and undeveloped
Tortuga Ranch
Government Buildings
• PotenLal for installaLon on site
Problems or QuesLons
• What will be the best physical locaLon touLlize the energy?
• What will be the most financiallyadvantageous route to construct the facility,(collaboraLon, tribally financed, leased)?
• What would be the best use of the energyproduced? (selling back to the uLlity serviceor using to offset energy costs).
Progress to Date
• We have issued an RFP are are currentlyreceiving proposals. We are seeking aconsulLng agency to proceed with our solarfeasibility study.
Next Steps
