Like the Sun Flower if we Follow the SON of God we become Tall & Strong In Christ

Well, Christmas is over and another one is less than a year away. What a fantastic job everyone involved in “This is Your Life, Jesus” did. It is always great to see new faces and to see people bring people. A seed has been sown in many hearts so lets pray the fruit of salvation will soon come to their lives. Some of my favourite images from the presentations.

A New Year always begins with new goals or

resolutions, because that’s what most people do at

the beginning of a new year. Can I encourage you

not to make any until you ask God what he wants

from you in 2011? It is important that our yes be

yes and our no be no when we make a

commitment to God.

It is such a big blessing that our Counselling

Centre and Community Outreach work begins

in 2011, having been granted £120,000, enabling

the work to continue for the next three years.

Praise God!

You’ll see and hear more of these statements:

“Loving God” ,"Loving People”, “Loving Life” in

2011. I feel strongly it is important for us at DCF

to clearly present or represent our purpose as a

church. We have been born again to “Love God”

,“Love People”, “Love Life.” I do plan to talk

more about vision in the new year. These

statements: “Loving God”, "Loving People”,

“Loving Life” are not DCF’s vision but they are

our purpose, our reason for being born again.

Vision is how we go about “Loving God”,

" Loving People”, “Loving Life.” Of course, DCF

is already “Loving God”, " Loving People”,

“Loving Life” in many different ways. So vision

is already in action and, hopefully with God’s

help, I can bring a fresh, clear, corporate, cohesive

and coordinated approach to implementing vision.

In deep At the last In deep we covered the period

of Kings and Prophets, in and out of Captivity. It

is amazing to see the hand of God at work in times

of suffering. Numbers were

very low but I really want

DCF to be a fellowship that

understands the WORD,

which sets free and

sanctifies. Next In deep we

will cover the New Testament on Jan 13th

2011,

Big Sunday Night Live I believe that the last Big

Sunday Night Live went so well because so many

made an effort to take part and bring people along.

Lye Victory Home are taking a service for us on the 16th Jan 2011. I am certain their stories are going to reveal the glory and wonder of God’s amazing grace to transform lives.

OASIS Youth Club is growing a fantastic team from DCF to reach and minister to local young people. Just thought you would like to see their new outfit.

WOW “Curry God’s Flavor.” Just an advanced

notice that WOW will be doing a Curry Night for

Men on Friday 28th

Jan

2011 at 7pm. Pastor

David Baker will also

share at this event. It is

an opportunity to bring

along some other chaps

for a good feed and a

good Word from God.

The WOW ladies are

preparing and serving for us, so we'd better begin

thinking about what to do for the ladies.

NEW @ DCF in 2011

Welcome Team to meet and greet you and to

welcome and look after new visitors to DCF. Can

you please help the welcome team, and avoid a

build up of people in the hallway, by moving into

the main hall to chat. Please encourage children

not to hang around the main doorway or hall way,

as people are coming in.

Prayer Ministry Team for sunday services will

be available for anyone requesting prayer. Just

come to the front of the main hall and the prayer

team will have badges on so they can be

identified. Jan B will be coordinating this

ministry.

Pastoral Care Team is being increased to serve

and support you even more.

Home Groups As you may know, we have a

number of Home Groups open to any one at DCF.

If you would like to join an existing Home Group

please see Malcolm. I would like to see a new

daytime Home Group begin, which you’ll have

opportunity to sign up for soon. Also a Young

Persons (those in secondary school) Home Group will

begin soon.

Money Management Debt is a major social

problem for many people, from all kinds of

backgrounds. DCF & DCC will be running a

course to enable people to manage their money

well. More information coming soon. Rob & Jan

B will be coordinating this ministry.

Be Who You Can in Christ This is a five week

course being provided by DCF & DCC, which

helps you be who you can be in Christ. In January,

Julie & Michael Allen, who run this course, will

be with us to explain more and give you the

opportunity to sign up.

Alpha Course at DCF A team is working

together to implement the best ways forward for

us at DCF to begin using the Alpha Course. More

news to follow of dates, times and venue. John

Cromthron will be coordinating this outreach.

Family Service at DCF An opportunity to

focus on the whole family. The service

promises to be fun, without any cringe!

Jonathon & Rachael will be coordinating these

services.

Monthly DCF Calendar This is a work in

progress. It is important that you let Dianne

Taylor have information for rotas and events

before the 25th

of each month.

The Bugle You may be wondering what has

happened to the weekly Bugle. Well, it will be

launched as a full size magazine covering

projects, profiles and piles of info about DCF in

2011. The new magazine will be quarterly to

begin with, and will have a minimal cost to

maintain quality and also to be used as an

outreach tool. More info to follow soon.
