Pour the vegetable oil into a plastic bag . Add the potato slices, and shake to coat. Coat a large dinner plate lightly with oil or cooking spray. Arrange potato slices in a single layer on the dish. Cook in the microwave for 3 to 5 minutes, or until lightly browned (if not browned, they will not become crisp). Times will vary depending on the power of your microwave. Remove chips from plate, and toss with salt (or other seasonings). Let cool. Repeat process with the remaining potato slices. You will not need to keep oiling the plate.`

In a saucepan bring sugar, cocoa, margarine, milk, and salt to a rapid boil for 1 minute. Add quick cooking oats, peanut butter, and vanilla; mix well. Working quickly, drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper, and let cool.

You’re not happy if someone doubts your integrity today because you have better things to do than to defend your reputation. However, the Moon and Mars are empowering your 8th House of Deep Sharing, allowing you to strengthen a business or personal re-lationship if you’re willing to lay all your cards on the table. You dislike feeling vulnerable, but growth does not occur if you’re busy building walls. Take a risk and dismantle the barriers between you and others. Once you reestablish mutual respect, there is no limit to what teamwork can accomplish.

Relationships built on strong founda-tions can weather the emotional shifts that come with time. However, it may be tempting to skirt around the edges of honest communication in order to avoid conflict. Unfortunately, choosing the easy way out today is an invitation to more fundamental problems down the road. Bringing unresolved issues out into the open requires courage but it also gives you a chance to seek solutions. There’s no getting around it; you must do the hard work if you want partnerships to last.

You might believe that time is running out and you will miss an awesome opportunity if you don’t share your ideas with your colleagues or your boss today. In fact, this line of think-ing contains a seed of truth as Venus and the Sun are both near the end of their respective journeys through your communicative sign. As awkward as it seems now, it will be even more difficult to start a conversation in a few days. Strike while the iron is hot or live with a tinge of regret.

Conflict arises when the gulf between fulfilling your current responsibilities and pursuing your fantasies about the future grows so wide that resolu-tion seems impossible. Fortunately, you’re able to live in two worlds today, with one foot on the path to success and the other one on a stairway to heaven. Luckily, the urgency to make your dreams come true today is in your head; time is on your side when your imagination aligns with reality.

Although you may still lack a concrete master plan to get ahead at work, you’re growing weary of flying by the seat of your pants. Take some time today to write down your goals, and then add a few sentences about accomplishing each of your various objectives. Don’t worry if all the disparate ideas are not flowing into one overarching proposal. Focusing on the minute particulars will eventually lead you to your destination. Even a journey of a thousand miles is accomplished step by step.

You can talk a good game today, but execution might be more of a chal-lenge. Three planets in chatty Gemini are busy wheeling and dealing in your 10th House of Career, enabling you to dazzle your coworkers with lots of words that fit together into a cohesive strategy. Unfortunately, there is a great difference between theory and practice, and you may be long on theory now and short on practice. Nevertheless, you need to navi-gate your way through tricky terrain with the confidence of a professional. There is no instruction manual; you must learn as you go.

An unexpected bout of jealousy could hijack your day if you’re not getting what you want, especially when some-one around you seems to have eve-rything. You might be more attached to the material world while the Moon and Mars in obsessive Scorpio are running the show in your 2nd House of Personal Resources. Unfortunately, the acquisition of more possessions is a dead-end path. Happiness is attainable when you realize that lasting riches are only found through spiritual pursuit.

You’re not interested in talking about how you can improve your life today; you prefer taking direct action now and then evaluating the consequences in real time. Although sometimes it’s tempting to be sidetracked by light-hearted interactions, you want the fast-est route to the jugular vein of meaning while the evocative Moon and speedy Mars are conspiring in your passionate sign. Life is very short and there is no time for meaningless distractions.

People seem to be unrealistically de-manding of your time today, prompting you to seek solace away from the pub-lic eye. You may be quite frustrated with everyone tugging at you in different directions because you know that you can’t fulfill all of their expectations and still honor your own needs. Although going off to be a hermit is not your typi-cal response, a mini-retreat will do you good now. Honestly, it’s not the worst thing for others to learn that they don’t always have to depend on you to raise their spirits.

Performing a solo act is not your first choice today. Although sharing the ca-maraderie of working toward a common goal with others is critical to your hap-piness now, it’s not the only reason you want to be part of a successful team. You fully understand the power of col-laboration and the strength that comes with numbers. Since you are so ambi-tious, it’s smarter to bring colleagues in to support your efforts. The lifting power of many wings can achieve twice the distance of any bird flying alone.

Your creative spirit fuels your ability to express yourself authentically today. However, you’re not willing to walk out on a previous commitment or leave a promise unfulfilled if others are count-ing on you. Accordingly, you might need to save the spontaneity for another time when there is more flexibility in your schedule. In the meantime, con-sciously let your inner child out to play for short bursts of time throughout the day. Ultimately, success is a triumph of imagination.

Just when you thought you knew what was going on, reality gets slippery. A relationship that was going through a stressful phase suddenly appears bet-ter. Stress on the home front dissipates; however, if everything suddenly seems perfect, rest assured it’s not. Neverthe-less, don’t go digging for trouble because you’ll surely find it. Instead, accept the improvements for what they are and save your energy for when you will need it in the future. As the Buddhist master Thich Nhat Hanh said, “The present mo-ment is the only moment available to us, and it is the door to all moments.
