Book 4 – Unit 2 Week 1 1. Write on the board “Let’s agree to disagree” 2. Pair up – Positive and negative aspects. 3. On the board – Brainstorm 4. Structure of the essay (students will match the definitions to the parts) 5. Connectors (address the main: addition, contrast, result, conclusion, etc.) – Students will come up with it (write on the board). There is a list on page 20 6. As a group, orally create an essay – at least some sentences that make sense USING THE CONNECTORS. 7. To make sure they understood the ideas each connector conveys pair them up and do exercise 3 on page 19. 8. Check exercise 3. Week 2 1. “Let’s agree to disagree” – Remind them that each one of us might see the topic on a different perspective but that does not mean we are right or wrong and we MUST respect the classmates points of view. 2. Pair up and come up with the positive and negative aspects of abortions. 3. Remind them of the structure of the genre and reinforce the idea that we write texts differently – Tell them they have a writing guide in the end of the book. 4. Divide them into 4 groups (if possible) and tell them each group will write a part of the essay. One essay will be written. In one piece of paper. 5. As a group, review the text. Check the spelling, verbal tenses, expressions and the use of the CONNECTORS.
