Albatross ChairA LIGHT EMBRACE
Albatross ChairINSPIRATION & FUNCTION
The arcs and angles of bird and human movement inspired the positive and negative spaces of the design, creating a sense of levity and strength. The footprint is small yet generous. The chair offers an angled backrest which supports your lumbar. The swoop continues, hugging the user while offering the elbows a resting spot. The paper twine seat flexes under weight for further comfort.
ALBATROSS DANCE EMBRACE
Albatross ChairFORMAL DEVELOPMENT
The concept originated in opposition to the static, simple chair. It seeks to achieve movement and tension with clarity.

As an extension of this concept, I started a local eating website. It features picks of the week, recipes, restaurant suggestions, and interviews with farmers, nutritionists and chefs.
TegoTEA FOR TWO, TO GO
Sharing a cup of tea is an important and historic ritual. By joining the two cups, this product redefines a cup as part of a pair, reinforcing the idea of connecting. The pod can be pulled apart to reveal two cups and a trivet. Each trivet is embossed with a quote about sharing on the inside.

VingFUNCTION
An easy way to share a glass of wine anywhere, in a park, on the beach or even on the roof, just grab a bottle of wine, Ving and go. Ving is made up of two stemless wine glasses coated in silicone, connected by a silicone piece. The connector hugs a bottle opener, keeping it from banging the glasses.

Anywhere MatFUNCTION & INSPIRATION
A mat for anywhere, this blanket converts into a bag to carry your essentials. The mat opens into a circle to accommodate groups of people. Waterproof and ripstop material make this a durable bag and blanket. Leather details and ruching add quality and refine-ment. Inspired by mandalas, the solar system and campfires, the graphic is bold and informative.

Yomo - Home CollectionEXPLORING TEXTURES & FINISHES
Yomo - HomeAPPLICATIONSI worked with textile designer Hope Newman to create these accessories for the home. She is the mastermind behind these featherweight silk and wool felted concoctions and laser cut leather and silk jersey pieces. Our col-laboration brought her scarfs to new scales and applications. We played primarily with layering, altering the transparency and opacity. Products launched ICFF 2007.
KalevalakehtoSPIRIT OF PLACE - HELSINKI
KalevalakehtoCONCEPT TO COMPLETIONI worked with architect Travis Price along with students from Catholic University to create this pavilion, a tribute to The Kalevala, a cultur-ally significant text. Designed for the site in Helsinki, we not only designed but built this project in the summer of 2010, where it was a feature of Helsinki Design Week 2010 & Winner of the Award of Merit for Architecture from the American Institute of Architects/DC Chapter.
