This amazing competition was de-signed for the new offi ces for gover-nment in Den Haag. It was ment to be an open, lightful, compact and organized system of working and in-teracting and also a unique piece that articulates the pedestrian conexion between the Centraal Station and the core of the city.I was in charge of the re-edition of the images, the 3D Model, and the “beauty improvement” of plans and sections.

Este impresionante concurso fue re-alizado para el diseño de las nuevas ofi cinas del gobierno en La Haya. Se propuso para ser un espacio abierto, luminoso, compacto y con una orga-nización del Sistema de trabajo muy efectiva. También el edifi cio se consti-tuye como una pieza que articula la conexión peatonal entre la estación central y el centro de la ciudad.Yo estuve dedicada a la reedición de las imágenes, el modelo en 3D y la “mejora estética” de planes y seccio-nes.

The goal was to design a building able to fold around the landscape that with its calm appeases right to the core of itself.The structure is a key factor. The li-near and rhythmic plan alternating patios, open courtyards and glass walls is softened in the stepped cei-ling of the chapel. Sustainability is the backbone of the designMy contribution to this project is the realization of the 3D model in Rhino, used to create this nice renders along with photoshop and the improve-ment of the fl oor plans and elevati-ons in cad for a better distribution of the space.La meta era lograr diseñar un edifi cio que fuese capaz de abrazar el paisaje y atraer en su calma a los visitantes. La estructura es un factor clave, la li-nealidad y el ritmo de planeamiento de los patios abiertos y los muros de cristal se suaviza en el tamizado techo de la capilla. La sostenibilidad es un punto de gran importancia en el diseño. Mi papel en este Proyecto es la reali-zadción del modelo 3D en Rhino, usa-do para crear los fantásticos renders con la ayuda de photoshop. También realize mejoras en los planos, sec-ciones y fachadas atendiendo a una mejora volumétrica al Sistema de dis-tribución de espacios.

The Bezuidenhoutsweg 30 is an imposing and powerful early 20th Century building in The Hague built to house the Ministry of Agriculture, Industry and Commerce. The new de-sign is the re-interpretation of the ori-ginal essence and is based on a clear plan to achieve an open and transpa-rent architecture.My role in this project is the realiza-tion of the Revit model of the actua-tion of KAAN architecten. Along with the detailing especifi cations of this construction development phase.

B30 es un imponente y poderoso edifi cio de La Haya de principios de Siglo 20. Acoge en él el ministerio de agricultura, industria y comercio. El nuevo diseño es la reinterpretación del estado original basado en un plan para alcanzar una arquitectura trans-parente y Abierta.Mi colaboración en este proyecto es la realización del modelo en Revit con la actuación de KAAN Architecten así como las especifi caciones detalladas de esta fase de desarrollo del proceso constructivo.

The Supreme Court in The Hague stands fi rm on an earthy stone base giving rise to a crystalline superstruc-ture.My role in this project was con-tributing to the fi nishing of the revit model and the improvement of the renders.

La corte suprema de La Haya se erige solemne en tierra fi rme elevando una superestructura cristalina. Mi participación en este Proyecto ha sido contribuir a la fi nalización del modelo en revit y la mejora de los renders de presentación.

I was in charge of the realizati-on of more than 90 diff erent housing types that matches this grid and res-ponds nicely to the shape given.Las nuevas megaciudades de china establecen un Nuevo paradigma para el contemporáneo Distrito centro de negocios gracias a su gran escala y rápido desarrollo. Mi colaboración fue la realización de más de 90 di-ferentes tipologías de vivienda que encajasen en esta red y respondiesen favorablemente a la forma escogida.

MVRDVBORDEAUX MASTERPLAN & OTHER COLLABORATIONS

Masterplan for Bastide Niel, 35ha ex-tension of Bordeaux city centre onto the right bank of Garonne River.

The existing historic structures have served as basis for the master plan which follows the rail lines and the historic buildings and platforms. Everything will be maintained and maximally densifi ed. This new inter-pretation of the history has the goal of creating a new dense, mixed, inti-mate, green, lightful, and sustainable “zero energy” neighbourhood.

I was in charge of the defi nition of the public space and all the existing buil-dings and traces studios, also wor-king in the fi nal images and volumes shown in here and in the web page.

Plan urbanístico para Bastide Niel, 35ha de terreno cerca del centro histórico de Burdeos al otro lado del río.

Este plan tiene como meta crar un nuevo vecindario verde, luminoso y sostenible con nulo consumo de energía .Las trazas históricas existen-tes sirven como base para este plan urbanístico que usa las huellas de vías y edifi cios del lugar para crear un nuevo vecindario de alta densidad cuya mezcla de usos facilite la inter-acción de sus usuarios.

Personalmente estuve a cargo de la defi nición de este gran espacio pú-blico y del estudio de las estructuras existentes así como de los volúmenes e imágenes de las presentaciones fi -nales del proyecto que se muestran aquí y en la web.

Interior design for the new Price Waterhouse Coopers headquarters in one of the four new main towers of Madrid.

I was entrusted with the offi ce’s furnishing: De-sign, distribution, purchase and reutilisation of all the pieces. And designed the new hall, wich con-tains a new sculpture for the company re-using their own materials to build their logo hanging from the high ceiling. The rest of the elements fol-lows this lines and create diff erent areas according to comfort and bioclimatic concepts.

Interiorismo para la nueva sede de Price Waterhouse Coopers situada en una de las 4 torres principales de Madrid.

Estuve a cargo del amueblamiento de las ofi cinas: diseño, distribución, compra y reutilización de to-dos los elementos. También el diseño del nuevo hall de acceso y de la gran escultura hecha con materiales reutilizados de anteriores ofi cinas que conforma un gran logo dando la bienvenida so-bre la zona de descanso. Todos los elementos se colocaron de acuerdo a parámetros de comfort y bioclimatismo.

ENTRANCE / EXHIBITION HALL LONDON ZOOThe ZSL (zoological society of London) is a very complex system of landscape, buildings and distribution of the groundfl oor with a non-very attractive or clear situation of its entrance. This project tries to unify this apparently crazyness with the straight, full of trees, barroque avenue that goes directly crossing Regent’s Park to one of the main metro stations of the area, activating this path.According to that, this huge folded deck allows visitors to feel the transition between the outside and the inside of the zoo while they observe the exposition inside this cover, attracting them to the inside of the zoo.The building is always playing with the perception of scale, the adaptacion to the place , the people, the animals and the vegetation.Also the construction system of this project is based on the same concept. Using (as you can see in the image) the ribs, as animals do, as an easy way to absorb and counteract the forces in all directions. The base where all the small uses are located provides the whole intervention with a balcony on the inside for visitors to perceive closer the details of the exposed collection and to have a diff erent view of the exhibition space.

El ZSL (zoological society of London) es un sistema muy complejo de paisaje, edifi cios y distribución de espacios con un acceso no demasiado claro al programa y otros aspectos a mejorar.Este proyecto trata de unifi car este caos aparente con la gran avenida barroca que cruza Regent’s park y une el zoo con las principales líneas de metro permitiendo así la activación peatonal de este eje.De acuerdo a estas premisas se crea una gan cubierta que se dobla y quiebra refl ejando la complejidad de la zona en la que se encuentra el edifi cio y permitiendo que al ver las exposiciones, mejorando la transición del exterior al interior del recinto, funcione como un atractor para posibles visitantes al zoo.El edifi cio juega siempre con la percepción de la escala, la adaptación al lugar, a los visitantes y a las necesidades de los elementos expuestos.el sistema de construcción está basado en el mismo concepto de acaptación. Esta vez a los animales, usando las costillas de una manera inteligente para absorver cargas y esfuerzos en todas las direcciones. También cuenta con una zona de usos y actividades de menor escala y una plataforma elevada para apreciar mejor los detalles de la exposición.

ARTS, ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN UNIVERSITY IN BERLIN This project is located near the free university of Berlin, hiding in the forest half of it´s program and peering above it towards the old university.On the lower levels has a free confi guration of the space connecting the towers and allowing the students to use the areas the way they think is better for each occasion. The advantage of the size and the constructive system of the towers is the possibility of avoiding pillars inside the volumes. A very strong core and a self-support skin makes this possible.

Este proyecto se situa cerca de la universidad libre de Berlin, escondiéndose entre el bosque y asomando sus aulas hacia la universidad y la biblioteca de Foster.El sistema constructivo permite, al llevar los esfuerzos hacia la fachada, evitar pilares en el interior del edifi cio ayudándose de un núcleo resistente de comunicaciones en cada edifi cio. En los niveles más bajos la planta es libre para ser confi gurada de la manera más apropiada dependiendo del tránsito y el uso requerido.

PARASITECHSOLAR / HUMAN MOVEMENT / WIND POWERED, SUSTAINABLE, RECYCLED, HABITABLE CAPSULE

This small project obtained the highest mark on “construction systems” at the university.The project is based on the idea of creating a new typology of mini-house for students that “parasites”the roof of other buildings for the fi rst basic needs such as the water system. But then, on its own, is capable of generate energy from the sun, the wind and the movement of the owners, and also collect water from the rain to transform it into safe drinking water for the user. It’s also sustainable because of its construction: The structure and the material of the walls are taken from old not-in-use aeroplanes. Nowadays we have thousands of those planes in graveyards contaminating the environment and their materials can be used for this kind of housing because it’s proved that they are very resistant to extreme conditions of cold and sun irradiation, they are very thin and easily transformable. The moving skin panels can be turned to fi t the day/night needs and conditions.

Este pequeña unidad obtuvo la más alta califi cación en la asignatura de construcción en la universidad.El proyecto se basa en la idea de crear una nueva tipología de vivienda mínima para estudiantes que “parasite” el tejado de ciertos edifi cios (debido a la proximidad de los mismos a los centros de estudio y a las necesidades iniciales mínimas antes de su funcionamiento). En poco tiempo es capaz por sí misma de generar energía del sol, el viento y el movimiento de los propios usuarios así como recolectar agua y tratarla para sus futuros usos. Los materiales usados son obtenidos de viejos aviones en desuso (actualmente hay cientos) evitando que contaminen y aprovechando que debido a las condiciones para las que fueron diseñados están hechos con fi bra de carbono, la cual es idónea para resistir extremos casos de irradiación solar, viento y bajas temperaturas. Además es fácilmente transformable. Las piezas de cubierta rotan para el mejor aprovechamiento de las condiciones del día y la noche.

SOCIAL HOUSING IN MADRID IIThis project is based on the opposite general con-cept of the previous one: What if we have the same house unit for everybody with the capability of being easily transformed?Families and their needs change as time goes by so their houses should also be able to do that. With the same principles of crossing ventilation, density, mix use and multicultural neighbourhood, this buildings near the Manzanares, adapt their shape to the natural slope of the area and are lifted in some parts to allow a better permeability of the groundfl oor and green spaces.

Este proyecto se basa en la idea opuesta al anterior: ¿Y si tenemos el mismo tipo de vivienda para todos los tipos de familia con la capacidad de ser fácilmen-te transformable? Las familias y sus necesidades cambian conforme pasa el tiempo así que sus ho-gares también deberían de ser capaces de asumir estos cambios.Con los mismos principios de sostenibilidad, ven-tilación cruzada, densidad y uso mixto ,la forma de estas viviendas, en este caso, viene dada por la adaptación a la orografía del terreno cerca del Man-zanares. Elevando los edifi cios en ciertos puntos para crear espacios verdes permeables de ocio y juego bajo los mismos.
