28000 Selkirk St. Bottom of screen from east kitchen window was pried. Suspect attempted to slide window up.

Bottom of screen from S/E bathroom window was also pried. Suspect attempted to slide window up. Suspect used some plastic containers left outside to climb on to reach bathroom window.

Victim observed damage to the screen on her kitchen window. While checking her surveillance footage, she observed an unknown subject in her driveway at approx. 11:00pm. No further description. The scene was processed and evidence was collected. Entry was not made into the residence.

Lock Box was compromised.

Victim states he arrived at residence he owns and discovered the lock box was gone and the home was open. Police arrived and assisted R/P with checking the residence. It was discovered that the Furnace, Hot Water Heater and the AC Unit were taken. 22000 La Garonne St. (Residential- Condo’s)

Entry through balcony door wall.

Victim states he left his apartment around 3:25pm to pick up his granddaughter. He received a call from the manager of his complex stating that a neighbor observed someone climb up his balcony and enter his apartment. Management did not give a description of the subject, and management did not state which neighbor it was that observed the suspect. Upon returning home around 4:00pm victim noticed the front door open. He entered and noticed that his Laptop and a Camera were missing from a table in the living room. He also discovered that his bedroom was ransacked. Possible Suspect Information: Victim stated that while leaving a younger B/M requested entry into the apartment building. Victim

refused to let him enter. Victim described subject as a young B/M early 20's, wearing black pants and a white tank top. The original witness was never located.

R/P who is the owner of the home states several tools were stolen from inside the home between 10/10/2018 @ 8:30pm and 10/11/2018 12:00pm. R/P believes the suspect is a person who works for him doing miscellaneous handy work on home’s he renovates. R/P states this subject is the only other person who has a key to this home. No damage was found on the home for entry and the home was locked when R/P arrived.

Latch on side door was pried open. The lock that was on latch is missing.

Residence is a vacant home, under renovation. Owner states sometime between 9:00pm and the following day at 5:30pm someone forced entry into residence and took several items. Victim states he met female (suspect) at a Detroit Gas Station four days ago. Victim states that he invited female over on the night of 10/08/2018. They hung out for several hours. When victim went to the bathroom, female suspect took his cars keys, left his apartment and stole his vehicle. On 10/09/2018 at 10:55am victim’s vehicle was recovered by DPD. The female suspect was driving the vehicle and was arrested.

Officers stopped a vehicle that was reported stolen (fraudulent purchase) on 06/08/2018. It was confirmed with the jurisdiction reporting vehicle stolen. The driver of the vehicle was identified, questioned and released pending further investigation. The vehicle was recovered and impounded.

Victim states he parked his vehicle in the lot of Elementary School in the 20000 Block of Winchester, put his keys in the gas compartment area, and loaded his tools into the loader for his job. He brought all his tools to the work site and when he returned 10 mins later, he noticed his vehicle was gone. Victim stated that there were a few more tools inside his vehicle, along with his wedding ring, a couple flashlights, and some misc. clothing. On 10/16/2018 it was reported that the vehicle had been recovered by another jurisdiction. No further details.

Victim states she left her home on 10/11/2018 at 9:30am and the vehicle was in the driveway. Victim returned home at 4:00pm and observed that the vehicle was gone. Victim discovered the spare key for the vehicle was missing from the top of her refrigerator. Victim, suspicious that her estranged husband took the car called him. He told her he took the vehicle but refused to return it. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: - 1999 Mercedes Benz ML320 - Black in color - All stock - Missing interior door panels on both front doors - "Spots of rust" all over vehicle

All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from victims 2018 Dodge Charger.

Security from the Apartment Complex in the 20000 Block of Knob in the Woods reported an Orange 2018 Dodge Charger had a broken-out window and was resting on cinder blocks with All Four Wheels & Tires missing. Security reported observing a Dark Truck with three occupants leave the complex, come back a few minutes later, then left again via the service drive entrance. Area check for the suspect vehicle was done with negative results. Incident occurred sometime between 2:30am- 3:00am.

Representative from Dealership in the 24000 Block of Telegraph Rd. advises he discovered one of their Dealer License Plates was taken over-night. R/P checked their video surveillance and observed an unknown B/M approach a Blue Ford Edge that was parked in the lot. The suspect removed the license plate from the vehicle using an unknown tool. The suspect appeared to be a 30-45-year-old B/M, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white shoes.

Victim reports he was doing work at residence. He parked and locked his dumpster trailer in the driveway. He last saw the trailer on 10/09/2018 at approx. 6:00pm. He noticed it missing the following morning on 10/10/2018 at approx. 8:00am.

Victim was at Gas Station in the 27000 Block of Lahser Rd. Victim set his cell phone on the counter when he was paying for his items. Victim left the gas station and realized he did not have his cell phone on his person. Victim returned to the gas station to retrieve his phone and was unable to locate it. The store clerk reviewed security video and observed an unknown male remove the phone from the counter and leave with it. No further description.

Victim stated that she discovered that her license plate was missing from her vehicle while getting her hair done at a location in another jurisdiction. Victim stated that the vehicle was parked in her driveway in Southfield from approx. 3:00pm until the following morning at 7:00am. Unknown for sure where the vehicle was located when the plate was taken.

Special Attention: MDOP to Campaign Signs 10/05/2018 7:07pm 29000 Block of Northwestern Hwy (Gas Stations) Officer was dispatched to the 29000 Block of Northwestern (Gas Station) regarding MDOP Campaign Sign. The sign was spray painted over with Red Spray Paint. Officer checked the area for other signs that may have been damaged and he found two more signs that had been sprayed with red spray paint as well. All the signs were for the same campaign person. Officer observed a vehicle partially off the road at 10 Mile & Berg. Investigation revealed that the driver was impaired and was arrested. The driver refused a breath test and was taken to Hospital for a blood draw. The driver was subsequently transported to the Southfield Jail where she was Booked & Lodged.

Special Attention: Larceny from Vehicles How to prevent this from happening to you! -Citizens should never leave anything of value inside their vehicle. (Especially Handguns, Purses, Wallets, Cash & Cell Phones!) - If you have a garage you should park your vehicle in the garage and lock the garage. - Wheel Locks are a deterrent but don’t leave the wheel lock key in the interior of your vehicle, especially the center console or glove box. This is the first place they will look for the wheel lock. -After parking your vehicle turn your wheels all the way to the right or the left. This will make it difficult to get the lug nuts off the front wheels. -If you don’t have a garage, try to park your vehicle as close to your residence as possible -If you here any loud noises near where your vehicle is parked, especially during the late night or early morning hours, attempt to look outside without alerting anyone and if someone is tampering with your vehicle immediately call 911, (Do Not Approach or Scare the Suspects Away) give Police Dispatchers as much information about the suspect(s) and

Serious Injury Traffic Crash/ Possible OWI or OUIN 10/10/2018 6:30pm Lahser Rd. & Corrine Ave. Officers responded to Lahser Rd. & Corrine Ave. on a report of “Rollover Injury Traffic Crash” involving several vehicles. Upon arrival, Officers located an unresponsive adult male that had been ejected from one of the vehicles. A Southfield Life Unit transported the victim to a local Hospital for treatment of a critical injury. Officers on scene suspected that the victim was intoxicated and an OWI investigation was conducted. Two adult females were also transported to Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. A Southfield PD Accident Reconstructionist was on scene working the accident.

Domestic Assault/ OWI/ Possession of a Firearm While Intoxicated- 1-Arrest 10/12/2018 1:19am 25000 Block of Shiawassee Rd. (Apartment Complex) The two combatants had just returned home from the casino. They lost money at the casino and argued all the way home. After getting home, the arguing continued. They were arguing while in the parking lot of Apartment Complex. The female had their baby in her arms and was attempting to retrieve the car seat when the male began to drive away causing the female to be hit & pulled with the vehicle. The male half was arrested for Domestic Assault, Possession of a Firearm While Intoxicated and OWI.

Special Attention: Larceny of Packages that were ordered and delivered via Common Carrier. How to prevent this from happening to you! Recently several citizens have had packages that were delivered to their residences and apartments stolen prior to them retrieving the packages. Citizens can prevent this from happening by scheduling a specific time to have the package delivered and be waiting for the package. Citizen can also schedule the package to be picked up by themselves at the common carrier facility.

Trespassing- 1- Arrest 10/13/2018 05:02 20000 Block of Brookshire St R/P (female) called reporting that her unwanted ex-boyfriend was at her door and refusing to leave. Officers arrived and discovered that the male, was the same subject that was at the residence the night before. The male was advised during that incident on trespassing and left. The same male returned this morning and was refusing to leave. He was arrested and lodged in the Southfield Detention Center.

Domestic Assault/ Assault on P.O./ Resist & Obstruct- 1- Arrest 10/13/2018 8:21pm 22000 Block of Telegraph Rd. (Motel) Witness observed a male kicking in the motel room door and assault the female occupant. Officers arrived to find the male with blood on his face and the female with multiple injuries. While investigating the incident the male attempted to assault Officer and swung a closed fist at him. Officer was able to deflect the punch and took the male into custody after a brief struggle. He was later, lodged in the Southfield Detention Center.

PWID- Prescription Pills/ R&O/ Warrants- 2- Arrests 10/09/2018 10:53pm W Eight Mile Rd. & Lahser Rd. Officers stopped vehicle occupied by two subjects for Traffic Violation. After stopping vehicle, Officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. During the pat-down of the driver a vial with several unknown pills spilled out of the driver’s pocket. The driver then tried to flee on foot. Officers were able to apprehend suspect and took him into custody. The driver was taken into custody for Possession of Prescription Pills w/o a Prescription, R&O and a quantity of cash was confiscated and forfeited. The passenger was arrested for Outstanding Warrants. A Southfield Police K-9 Officer and his K-9 conducted a vehicle sweep and located two plastic baggies with suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician Field Tested a sample of the suspected marijuana. The result was positive for possible presence of marijuana.

VCSA/ Possession of Marijuana- 1- Arrest 10/11/2018 8:20pm W Twelve Mile Rd. & Telegraph Rd. Officers stopped vehicle for a Traffic Violation. After approaching the vehicle and contacting the driver a strong odor of marijuana was detected, coming from the interior of the vehicle. During Officers investigation and search of vehicle, Officers located a sandwich baggie containing several pills, (suspected opiates) as well as suspected marijuana and a black prescription bottle containing suspected marijuana. All contents were mixed together in the sandwich baggie and were in the center console. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician Field Tested a sample of the suspected marijuana. The result was positive for possible presence of marijuana. The driver was taken into custody w/o incident for VCSA (Prescription Pills w/o Prescription) & Possession of Marijuana.

PWID Marijuana- 1- Arrest 10/11/2018 10:01pm Telegraph Rd. & W Twelve Mile Rd. Officers stopped vehicle for Traffic Violations. After stopping and approaching the vehicle a strong odor of marijuana was detected, coming from the vehicle. The driver presented a Michigan Identification Card and stated he did not have a driver’s license. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle and was brought to the front of Officers vehicle. The driver stated he had marijuana in his front hoodie pocket and a second bag in his hoodie. Officer recovered both baggies of suspected marijuana. Officers searched the vehicle and found multiple cell phones, an electronic scale and a package of small baggies. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician Field Tested a sample of the suspected marijuana with positive results. The driver was arrested for PWID Marijuana.

Possession of Cocaine/ Felony Warrant- 2- Arrests 10/14/2018 11:14pm Telegraph Rd. & W Nine Mile Rd. Officers were on routine patrol when they observed a vehicle exiting Hotel in the 23000 Block of Telegraph Rd. The vehicle was stopped a for Traffic Violations. After talking to the male driver and female passenger it was discovered that they had both just smoked some “Crack” and had sex at the Hotel. The male made admissions to paying for the sex. During a pat down of the male a Black Tupperware Case containing suspected cocaine was recovered. No further narcotics were recovered. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician Field Tested a sample of the suspected cocaine. The result was positive for possible presence of cocaine. The male subject was arrested for Possession of Crack Cocaine. The female passenger was arrested for outstanding Felony Warrants.
