R/P (daughter) stopped by to check on her parent’s apartment and noticed that someone attempted to enter the apartment. R/P advised sometime between 07/01/2018- 07/03/2018 someone attempted to gain entry by tampering with the door lock. No entry was made into apartment.

Maintenance with a key is suspected.

Victim states on 07/02/2018 she called the emergency work order number to request repairs for a leaking ceiling. A maintenance worker (unknown name, Hispanic male, dark short hair, 5'6'' - 5'7'' thin build, entered victim’s apartment around 12:00pm to fix the leak. There was no work order sheet filled out for this maintenance request and victim didn’t give anyone permission to enter her apartment. Victim was out of town for a couple days and when she returned, she noticed there was a work order lying on the ground inside by her front door. The work order shows on 07/03/2018 at 8:30am the leak in the ceiling was repaired. The ceiling was already repaired on 07/02/2018 and never saw

maintenance on 07/03/2018 prior to her departure at 9:00am. Victim discovered that electronic items are missing from the apartment. Suspect: Last Name

Officer was on routine patrol, w/b on 8 Mile Rd near Lahser Rd and was following a Black Chevrolet Impala. Officer ran the vehicle through LEIN and discovered the vehicle was reported stolen out of Detroit on 06/13/2018 with two black males listed as suspects. Officer continued to follow vehicle until it stopped for red light at 8 Mile and Evergreen Rd. With assistance from additional Officers the vehicle was stopped and the two occupants were investigated. The driver was arrested for R&C Motor Vehicle and DWLS.

Victim stated that he drove by his business last night and noticed that two of his work vehicles were gone. Victim stated that the 2002 Town & Country has a tracker and it's showing the vehicle at a tow yard in Detroit. Victim advised that he did not give anyone permission to use the vehicles. It was determined that victims 2002 Chrysler Town & Country had been impounded in Detroit prior to him making a report so it was not entered as a stolen vehicle. Victim was able to go to the tow yard and get his vehicle.

Victim reports that one of their limousines was stolen between 07-03-2018 and the morning of 07-05-2018. Surveillance video shows a light skinned male going through several vehicles. After going through the Mercedes Benz, it was then seen leaving the lot. The last person to use this vehicle left the key in the cup holder.

Wallet containing cash in assorted bills, a money order and 5- credit/debit cards.

Victim states she was shopping in the produce section of the store when she turned to grab a sweet potato her wallet was taken out of her purse. Her wallet contained and undisclosed amount of cash in assorted bills, a money order and five credit/debit cards. Victim claims to have been notified that a purchase was placed at Gas Station in Southfield shortly after the theft using her Comerica Card. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> This is a crime of opportunity. Most women that have their purses with them will put their purses in the shopping cart in the area where a child would normally sit. Victim states he ordered two items, backpack and cell phone cases. They were delivered to his residence, June 23rd, 2018 at 3:54pm. When victim got home at 5:00pm the packages weren’t there. Victim had requested that the packages be delivered to the leasing center but they were delivered to his apartment.

Victim states sometime between 11:00pm and the following morning at 11:00am someone went through victim’s vehicle and took 2- Gift Cards. Note: There were three vehicles attacked overnight at this apartment complex in the 20000 Block of Camden Square.

20000 W Twelve Mile Suspect attempted to take victim’s wallet.

Officers were dispatched to shots fired in the 20000 Block of 12-Mile Rd. Victim had been shot at when attempting to buy an “Watch” off someone he met off the internet site “Offer Up”. Victim states he approached the suspect vehicle, White Nissan Mid-Size SUV and saw that there were approx. 5 people in the car. An unknown black female was driving and 3 other unknown black males other than actual suspect were in the vehicle. Suspect was sitting in the backseat on the driver side. Suspect produced the Watch in the box and said, “Here it is, do you want to still buy it.” Victim pulled out his wallet from his pocket. Suspect attempted to grab victim’s wallet and in the process tearing victim’s shirt. Victim then saw suspect produce a hand gun. Victim took off running and heard a single gunshot. The White Mid-Size SUV then pulled out the parking lot going S/B on Evergreen Rd. Incident is under investigation.

20000 W Eight Mile (Fast Food)

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from registers.

Officers were dispatched to the 20000 Block of W 8 Mile Road (Fast Food Restaurant) on the report of a Robbery in progress. While enroute, dispatched advised that a male could be heard saying, “Give me the Money” over an open line. Upon arrival, Officers observed a bag with spilled fries near the entrance of the restaurant.

Investigation revealed that suspect had a gun, pointed it at employee’s and asked for a large fry and the money. The suspect jumped over the counter and took money from the drive thru register and the front counter register. The suspect then fled the restaurant on foot. Employee described the suspect as a black male with medium brown skin, 18-25 years of age. He was wearing an orange and blue jacket and a burgundy and black skull cap with slits for the eyes and mouth. He was also wearing red and black shoes and he was approx. 5’-6”-5’-9” in height. Employee also made mention that the suspect engaged in conversation with one of their employee’s and was seen laughing at her. After the robbery occurred, this same employee used her phone to make one phone call and then borrowed another employee’s phone and made several phone calls with this phone. The employee deleted the calls prior to giving the phone back. Incident is under investigation.

Unarmed Robbery: 07/06/2018 2:22pm

Telegraph Rd. & Swanson Rd.

Bike, Shirt, Shoes & Cash was taken from victim.

Victim was putting air in his bike tires when he was approached from behind by 2 B/M’s. The suspects grabbed the victim and took him behind the gas station where they stole his shirt, shoes, and cash.

Suspect Descriptions: Suspect #1: B/M, approximately 18-30 years of

age, about 5'10 and medium build wearing blue jeans.

Special Attention: Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm 07/07/2018 1:03am 27000 Block of Arlington Officers were dispatched to residence on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers met with the r/p at the residence and were informed that three uninvited guests were advised to leave the party at residence. The r/p witnessed one of the subjects firing a handgun into the air from a vehicle as it was leaving the location. The suspect vehicle was a Black Dodge Charger and was occupied by three to four young black males. No one was injured in the incident. SUSPECT #1: B/M approximately 5'8"-5'10", facial hair, wearing Adidas sweatpants with a white t-shirt. SUSPECT #2 B/M approximately 5'8"-5'10", facial hair, wearing a white tank top, and black and white palm tree printed pants. SUSPECT #3 B/M approximately 5'8"-5'10", facial hair, wearing basketball shorts and a t-shirt. Unknown on color.

Special Attention: Larceny from Vehicles How to prevent this from happening to you! -Citizens should never leave anything of value inside their vehicle. (Especially Handguns, Purses, Wallets, Cash & Cell Phones!) - If you have a garage you should park your vehicle in the garage and lock the garage. - Wheel Locks are a deterrent but don’t leave the wheel lock key in the interior of your vehicle, especially the center console or glove box. This is the first place they will look for the wheel lock. -After parking your vehicle turn your wheels all the way to the right or the left. This will make it difficult to get the lug nuts off the front wheels.

-If you don’t have a garage, try to park your vehicle as close to your residence as possible. -If you here any loud noises near where your vehicle is parked, especially during the late night or early morning hours, attempt to look outside without alerting anyone and if someone is tampering with your vehicle immediately call 911, (Do Not Approach or Scare the Suspects Away) give Police Dispatchers

Fleeing & Eluding 8 Mile & Evergreen Rd. 07/05/2018 3:28am Officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver failed to stop and a short pursuit ensued. The pursuit was terminated as it entered the City of Detroit. Suspect Vehicle: A Red 2018 Dodge Charger with a Michigan plate. The registered owner of the vehicle was positively identified as the driver of the vehicle. Incident is under further investigation.

Fleeing & Eluding 8 Mile & Greenfield Rd. 07/05/2018 1:20am Officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver failed to stop and a short pursuit ensued. Stay on the phone with Dispatchers until the Police arrive. -Lots of lighting around the area(s) that you park your vehicles is also very beneficial. Criminals don’t like to work in well lighted areas. They prefer to work in darkness because it’s difficult to see them.

Special Attention: Larceny of Packages that were ordered and delivered via Common Carrier. How to prevent this from happening to you! Recently several citizens have had packages that were delivered to their residences and apartments stolen prior to them retrieving the packages. Citizens can prevent this from happening by scheduling a specific time to have the package delivered and be waiting for the package. Citizen can also schedule the package to be picked up by themselves at the common carrier facility.

Fleeing & Eluding 27050 Lahser Rd. 07/05/2018 3:49pm (Gas Station) Southfield Officers were dispatched to location on a report of a of a possible fraudulent use of a credit card. The r/p stated a subject was using a fraudulent credit card to fuel three vehicles. The vehicles involved were a Red Dodge Charger, a Gray Dodge Charger, and a Silver Chevrolet Impala. The vehicles were last seen leaving n/b on Lahser Rd from Eleven Mile Rd. Officer located the Red Dodge Charger at Twelve Mile and Evergreen and attempted to initiate a stop. The driver failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit was terminated on W/B 696 & Lahser Rd. Suspect Vehicle: A Red 2018 Dodge Charger with a Michigan plate.

R&C Stolen Vehicle- 1- Arrest 07/04/2018 3:01am 12 Mile Rd. & Rock Creek Southfield Officers spotted a vehicle parked in the gas station at 12/Southfield. The vehicle matched the description of a stolen limo that was given out at briefing. As the vehicle left the lot, the vehicle was confirmed as being the stolen vehicle that officers had information on. The vehicle was stopped without incident and the driver was placed under arrest. The suspect was booked and lodged at the Southfield Jail.

Special Attention: Larceny of Air Conditioning Units 18000 Block of Violet

(Apartments) From: 06/25/2018 4:30pm To: 06/26/2018 7:30am 9- Air Conditioning Units were stolen overnight. they were located outside of each apartment which is currently under construction. Note: We have been experiencing several of these type incidents recently throughout the city. If anyone see’s anyone near or around any air conditioning units especially at night time call the police. Get as much information about the suspects and their vehicles as you can and give it to Police Dispatch.

Fleeing & Eluding 07/06/2018 10:23am 10 Mile & Lahser Rd. Southfield Officers attempted to initiate a stop for a traffic violation at location. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The driver of the suspect vehicle bailed out of the vehicle in the 23000 Block of Pembroke and fled into the woods. A K-9 track was initiated with negative results. The suspect vehicle was impounded and towed to Ross Towing. While in foot pursuit Officers got a good look at the suspects face. A Driver’s License Photo of the registered owner was observed by Officers and they positively identified the registered owner of the vehicle as the person that fled from him. Incident is under further investigation.
