Late Night in the Phog
This year’s Late Night arguably KU’s biggest student tradition will be held over Fall
Break.
Late Night in the Phog is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on October 10, the first day of Fall
Break. Many students are upset by this decision because it will impact their ability to
attend.
Stephanie Silver, a former KU cheerleader, said that Allen Fieldhouse will not be as
crowded this year because all the freshmen students will have gone back home for break.
Late Night will introduce the 2014-2015 men’s and women’s basketball rosters.
Afterward, the introduction of both teams, the players will perform a short dance routine
for the crowd. Some other traditions involved will be Waving the Wheat, in which
students raise their hands and wave them from side to side to mimic the Kansas wheat
fields, and if your lucky you might be caught on TV.
Last year, comedian Rob Riggle, a KU alumni, surprised Late Night attendees with his
unannounced appearance as host.
