A. Performance data Please refer the attached Equipment and fan data sheets enclosed in this proposal. Other relevant data to our proposed design :- Heat exchanger finned tube surface : 972,111 m2 Dimensions of the ACC (W x L) : 75.6 x 61.0 m ( column to column on the grade) B . Description of air cooled condenser

B.1 General arrangement For this unit, there is 5 trains of 6 modules. The ACC unit comprised of multiple A-frame assemblies

arranged on a steel supporting structure of 23.0 M height. Each train consists of 5.57 modules (or cells) of Condenser and 0.43 module of Reflux Condenser. One module has 14 bundles.

In total, the ACC unit comprised of 420 finned tube bundles arranged in 30 cells. Each cell is cooled by

1 forced draft fan at the base of the A-frame and therefore there is a total of 30 fans per unit. The axial flow fans are driven by electrical motors linked to Gear drive for speed reduction. Please refer to the detailed General Arrangement Drawing attached in Section 4.

B.2 Finned Tube Bundles The ACC consists of Single Row fin tubes which are produced by brazing the aluminium fins onto the flat carbon steel tubes which have been aluminized on the outside (air-side). Single row tube will ensure condensing evenly across the whole tube bundle and steam will remain at the end of condenser bundles under all operation cases. Air leaking test will be conducted for each tube bundles prior to ex-works. B.3 Support Structure

The ACC unit is placed on the steel structure at a platform elevation of 23.0 M level which is designed to support both the dead load of the condenser and the specified wind loads included in the tender documents. Here it is assumed that there is no obstruction at the grade level of ACC for air flow.

In addition, the complete system (i.e. finned tube modules, steam piping and structure) is designed to

accommodate the thermal movement of the system over the total range of ambient and operating conditions.

The ACC structure is designed for wind velocity of not more than 40 m/s. B.4 Fans, motors and gear drives The required cooling air is supplied by axial fans which are arranged in the lower part of the roof. The

fans are driven by electric motors. The speed reduction is achieved by a gear drive. FRP Fan blades have been considered to meet the noise criteria. The fan blades are adjustable during standstill. Gear boxes shall be parallel shaft. An AGMA service factor of 2.0 minimum has been considered. The gear box shall be provided with an integral forced lubrication system which provides sufficient lubrication at all speeds and in either direction of rotation.

www.jord.com.au

B.5 Access and maintenance Each condenser module is isolated at the fan plenum from the adjoining cells by triangular steel partition

walls which are provided with painted steel doors. A platform for access to the air cooled condenser drive and gear box maintenance shall be provided. (See attached preliminary G.A drawing and our scope of supply) Additionally a monorail system with electric hoist for motor and gear box removal has been included. B.6 Wind-walls

Painted panel windwalls around the perimeter of the condenser are supplied for the purpose of reducing

the recirculation of the cooling air and to shield against the adverse effects of wind. In addition, they provide an acceptable environment for operators during inspection. The outer appearance can be selected to match the general architectural appearance of the building exterior and as per the project painting specification.

B.7 Exhaust steam duct (Assumed 10m in length, refer to GA) & distribution manifold The exhaust steam is supplied to the air-cooled condenser through a large diameter exhaust steam

duct. Expansion bellows shall be included in the duct system to accommodate thermal growth and meet allowable turbine loadings. Wind and thermal loads are transferred through the bellow hardware to the condenser structure. The condensing elements are arranged as an A-Frame structure to form “roof” sections at the top of which runs the steam distribution manifold.

The material of construction for the duct has been considered as structural steel material A36/SS400 or

equivalent and welding of the same is performed to AWSD1.1 which is inline with HEI Standard for Air Cooled Condensers First Edition 2011.

Two 700 mm round manways have been considered for internal duct access. Please note that the steam ducts of sizes larger than 5 m in diameter will be shipped in pre-

fabricated (cut along the long seam) condition only. Client will have to do site welding along the long seam to complete the ducting and install at site.

. C. System description & operation principle

The turbine exhaust steam is supplied to the ACC through a large diameter steam duct of 7.8 M diameter and located as indicated in the GA drawing. A flexible turbine exhaust bellow or a spring pot bottom support shall be installed near the exhaust opening to keep the induced forces and moments on the turbine casing within the allowable range.

The condenser modules and their corresponding bundles are designed as primary and secondary. In

the primary modules, approx. 85.0% of the steam is condensed in parallel flow condenser bundles which are welded to the steam distribution manifold at the top of the apex. In these bundles, both the steam and the condensate flow co-currently from the roof top to the D-shaped outlet headers at the bottom.

These headers are connected via nozzles and a common steam-condensate manifold to the secondary bundles which are also known as the Reflux Condenser (Dephlegmator).

Page 12: Q16-0416 Proposal Rev A.pdf

www.jord.com.au

The steam exiting the condenser tube bundles enters the bottom of the Dephlegmator bundle and is condensed. The condensate flows downwards to the manifold. As the condensate flows past the upward flowing steam, it is heated minimizing subcooling.

The non-condensables are extracted from the top of the Dephlegmator/Reflux Condenser.

All steam, condensate and air extraction manifolds are directly welded to the condenser bundle to reduce the possibilities of air leakages of the vacuum operated system to a minimum.

D. Scope of supply In total, the ACC unit consists of 390 Condenser bundles and 30 Dephlegmator bundles of Single Row finned tubes. Single Row fin tubes are produced by brazing the aluminium fins onto the flat carbon steel tubes which have been aluminized on the outside (air-side). The finned length is approximately 10.6 M in the Condensers and 9.6 M in the Dephlegmators. Each cell of 14 bundles are serviced by 1 axial flow fan (30 fans in total). Fan blades are made of FRP and are adjustable during standstill. The fans are driven by Single-speed electric motors. The speed reduction is achieved by Gear Drive. It is preferred to have atleast 50% Variable Speed Drives for regulating the airflow. We have not included any variable speed drives in our offer. However, if required we will include the same.

Steel supporting structure includes the platform around the ACC at fan deck, one staircase and a wind wall around the ACC made of corrugated color bond sheet. The ACC supporting structure is designed for the dead load of the condenser components, the operating loads and the specified wind and seismic loading. Material is A36 or SS400 or equivalent. Corrosion protection will be as per your specified requirements. Jord will be fabricating structural steel globally. Structural steel material will comply with International Standards but not limited to Material Standards such as ASME / ASTM / ANSI / DIN / JIS / GB / BS etc. shall be permitted. However, structure shall be designed in accordance with applicable codes of the tender document. One horizontal type condenser tank size based on a 5 Minutes retention time. Ideas EngineeredJord custom-designs, manufactures, commissions and services process plant for the power generation industry. We supply individual capital equipment, or integrate various technologies into bespoke modular systems or complete turnkey plant. We collaborate with clients for both greenfield and existing sites, to meet the efficiency and environmental challenges of our times, while delivering innovation, value and reliability.

For example, Jord overcame severe plotspace restrictions on a Petrobras Brazil offshore gas platform to design and construct lube oil recirculation modules for four gas turbines.

Recently, Jord overcame a number of hurdles to successfully retrofit a 36 MW boiler into an existing power plant. Factors to consider were poor site access, a maximum lift restriction, minimising plant downtime, the structural integrity of the unit due to limited anchor points and easy replacement of the cold end tubes in the event of dew point corrosion.

A pile of rocks ceases to be a pile when somebody contemplates it with a cathedral in mind. ”

Ideas are like rabbits. You get a couple and learn how to handle them, and pretty soon you have a dozen. ”

InnovationJord’s motto of Ideas Engineered reflects our pursuit of creative technical solutions that are cost-effective and dependable.

As every project is different, we collaborate with our client’s experts to devise, consider and rank options : methodical approaches harnessing open minds and lateral thinking. Each approach is driven by a desire to reduce cost, time and risk − both for plant installation and for ongoing service and refurbishment.

One of our more unusual projects was a brief in 2014 to custom design and construct an iso-pentane revapourisation system for a Combined Cycle Power Plant, such that all iso-pentane produced in an adjacent LNG facility could be fully consumed without any venting or flaring. Jord’s system comprises five modules that convert liquid iso-pentane into superheated pentane vapour for delivery to the power station’s HRSGs.

ValueIn all our projects, we will look to add value, be it to increase capacity or efficiency, reduce cost or operating risk, decrease cycle time or reduce environmental impact.

Jord’s turbine auxiliary systems are a good example of this. Over a 20 year period, Jord has provided good value to its repeat order customers by a relentless drive to reduce both module cost and cycle time.

Since Jord’s first cooling water recirculation module was designed, manufactured and delivered to a 120 MW Malaysian power plant in 1994, Jord has supplied over 1,000 gas turbine accessory modules, to all points of the globe. In addition to cooling water, applications include NOx emission control, fuel and lube oil conditioning and turbine washing systems.

References include a number of world scale installations, for 1,000 MW+ gas fired power plants involving large banks of turbine accessory modules. Short cycle time delivery has been a key consideration for these projects, requiring strict adherence to rigorous project execution processes.

ReliabilityJust as many of our earliest plants will soon reach 50 years of active service, we expect our latest plant to do the same, even in the most challenging of operating environments.

There are many reasons for this. First, we have the technical skills and take the time to understand the full plant in which our system will operate. This allows us to appreciate the risks ; ensuring our part of the plant is well designed and manufactured. Second, we nurture exclusive, stable fabrication partnerships that over decades provide consistent quality of manufacture and service. Finally, as a private firm that’s here for the long term, we bend over backwards to make sure our systems operate as designed for our clients. We systematically troubleshoot operational issues and work with our customers to optimise performance as process conditions change throughout the life of a plant.

Jord’s reliability can be demonstrated through its steam cycle heat exchanger systems. Our robust Air Cooled Condenser (ACC) designs were forged from a joint venture with German based Balcke Duerr in the 1990s. The units we have supplied since then span the harshest of operating environments; from the hot sandy desert environment of Saudi Arabia to the freezing conditions of northern Russia, where design temperatures drop to – 45 deg C.

Case Study – Fuel Gas ConditioningJord’s Wet Electro-Static Precipitators (WESP’s), Detarrers, and Flue Gas Desulphurisation (FGD) units offer superior technology to tackle difficult and complex plant emission applications within the Power industry.

Such as the cleaning of synthesis gas, or Syngas, to fuel gas turbines. Syngas is typically created as a by-product from Blast Furnaces and Coke Ovens. It is heavily contaminated with small particles of dust and tar. Carefully designed Detarrers and WESP’s condition the gas, making it suitable for Gas Turbine use.

FGD is a process for removing sulphur dioxide from the flue gas of boilers burning high sulphur fuels. Conventional FGD systems often require an expensive reagent, high grade lime or limestone, and generate solid wastes that must be transported to landfill. Jord’s FGD systems utilize a range of less expensive reagents that produce a saleable product, gypsum, which has multiple uses including the manufacture of cement.

PeopleJord was one of the first Australian engineering companies to support the country’s resource boom from the 1970s. John Holden and Phil Blundell attracted and developed the expertise needed for their vision of serving the emerging petroleum, alumina, nickel and sugar industries, drawing in engineers with ability, humility, curiosity and dedication.

Now, the staff who share those same qualities span 10 countries, 25 nationalities and 40 languages. Our average length of service is 10 years, well ahead of the industry average.

Jord offers our people the stability of private ownership, flexible work arrangements to balance long-term commercial, professional and personal ambitions, and a significant share in the annual profit of the business.

PARTNERS

– Charles Eames

Jord fosters and sustains long-term partnerships with international technology leaders, with fabricators and with our customers, to learn from each other, solve challenges and engineer ideas. Many of these partnerships have prospered for decades.

Together, we have custom-built and manufactured well over USD 2 billion of bespoke plant and systems. Each project, each technical challenge and each commercial setting is different.

Most recently, in collaboration with gas turbine suppliers, Jord is offering design and construct solutions for small scale simply cycle, combined cycle and cogeneration power plants. This is a natural extension of similar services Jord delivers in the Oil & Gas and Resource industries.

Eventually everthing connects – people, ideas, objects. The quality of the connections is the key. ”

CAPITAL & PERFORMANCE

Jord remains debt-free, with both a strong balance sheet and available facilities to ensure the financial demands of large international projects are met. Our conservative fiscal approach has helped us meet these demands despite four major global economic disruptions over our 40 years.

Retaining stable, private ownership during this time has also allowed Jord to invest in its staff for the long term.

CapitalAnnual revenues of up to $200 million has been generated through steady, organic growth rather than ‘bolt-on’ acquisitions -– our customers trusting us with ever bigger and more complex projects. Our most satisfying projects are the ones where challenging circumstances are overcome and customer expectations are exceeded.

Jord’s quality guarantee is backed by over 20 years of ISO accreditation; our systems are fully integrated to ISO9001, 14001 and 18001. We have developed our own custom-built, web-based “Horizons” project execution system and knowledge centre. Horizons gives our globally spread staff and customers real-time project information and performance data.

The Jord Environment Trust (“JET”) was established in 2007 with a charter to donate funds to international causes that help foster a biologically diverse and sustainable planet.

Almost $2 million of capital has been steadily accumulated out of Jord annual profits, the interest from which is donated to various not-for-profit causes.

Most recently, JET supplied pro-bono services and funding to deliver various clean water and clean (solar) energy projects to nature reserves being managed in outback Australia by the world renowned Bush Heritage Trust. Other projects include cyclone relief in the Philippines, earthquake relief in Nepal and sustainable development in Cambodia.
