The Termas de Río Hondo Circuit is located 6km from the city which gives the venue its name, in the Province of Santiago del Estero. It was built in a 150 hectare area and officially inaugurated on May 11, 2008, during the visit of Argentina´s Touring Car Racing championship. In 2012, the reconditioning, enlargement and modernization of the circuit began, with the purpose of turning it into Latin America’s most modern, safe and vibrant circuit. Le Circuit de Termas de Río Hondo est situé à six kilomètres de la ville dont il porte le nom, dans la province de Santiago del Estero. Construit sur un terrain vaste de 150 hectares, le circuit a été inauguré le 11 mai 2008 lors de la venue du Championnat Touring Car Racing d’Argentine. Le circuit a entamé en 2012 des travaux de rénovation, d’élargissement et de modernisation afin de devenir le circuit le plus sûr et le plus moderne d’Amérique du Sud. Der Termas de Río Hondo Circuit liegt in der Provinz Santiago del Estero 6 Kilometer außerhalb der Stadt, die ihm seinen Namen gegeben hat. Er wurde auf einer Anlage von 150 Hektaren gebaut und am 11. Mai 2008 offiziell eröffnet. Damals gastierte die argentinische Tourenwagen-Meisterschaft auf dem Circuit. Im Jahre 2012 wurde die Piste vergrößert, modernisiert und überarbeitet. Ziel war es, die Anlage zur modernsten, sichersten und dynamischsten Rennstrecke von ganz Latein-Amerika zu machen.
