Once again the desert echoes to the mighty roar of powerful, unsilenced motorbikes. The Motogp is back in Qatar for the first round of the exciting World Championships, with the masters of two wheel racing world all present. Une fois de plus le désert fait écho au puissants rugissements des motos sans silencieux. Le Motogp est de retour au Qatar pour la première épreuve du passionnant Championnat du monde, avec la présence des meilleurs pilotes du monde des courses de vitesse sur route.

La piste est longue de 5,4 kilomètres et ses alentours sont recouverts de gazon artificiel afin d’empêcher le désert voisin de gagner du terrain sur le circuit. La ligne droite fait plus d’un kilomètre et le tracé associe des virages plus ou moins rapides à quelques virages à gauche très rapides qui se sont révélés très populaires chez les pilotes.

The track itself is a flowing layout of 5.4 kilometres, surrounded by artificial grass. The main straight is over a kilometre in length and there is a good mix of medium and high-speed corners, including a couple of quick left-handers which has proved particularly popular with the riders.

FIM Moto2 and Moto3 World Championships In Qatar Qatar’s Losail track has already seen Dunlop world championship riders on the podium in 2015, with success in all three World Championship categories in the FIM Motocross World Championship four weeks ago. The Qatar facility is one of very few circuits to offer world-class on and off-track competition. Like the motocross, the Qatar Moto GP races will again be held at night on a floodlight track when the world will be watching Dunlop’s 65 riders begin their 2015 campaigns. While some of the 2015 specification Dunlop Moto2 tyres were raced last season at some rounds following their early introduction, the Qatar round will be the first where all the Moto2 choices are the new generation tyres.

Tyre allocation Moto2 Option 1 Fronts: 120/75R17 Soft ’1’ (black ’Dunlop’ on yellow) Medium ’2’ (black ’Dunlop’ on silver) Option 2 Rears: 195/75R17 Medium ’2’ (black on silver) Hard ’3’ (yellow on black) No wet tyres are taken to Qatar as rain would prevent racing due to glare from the floodlights on a wet track.
