Purpose
• Show how the Regional Transportation and Complete Mobility Program is moving from the planning stages to implementation stages
• How the program is bringing value at the local level-working collaboratively together

• CMP includes cost-effective infrastructure to help achieve the proposed settlement pattern

Regional Fare Integration
• Longer term strategy: to develop a CRP regional fare structure • Defining a seamless trip from a customer’s perspective • Tapping into future smart card technology • Local pilot projects; regional application- Airdrie/Calgary Transit
Building Implementation Capacity and Support
• CRP and municipalities evolving together as transit implementation takes place
• Learning together- one offs not efficient

• Airdrie: – Transit Review of their local services-– Fare integration pilot
• Bow Valley Regional Transit System: – Marketing pilot for new Canmore to Banff service
• Black Diamond/Turner Valley:– Sub regional feasibility study
• Okotoks: – awaiting the outcome of the regional transit governance project
• Cochrane: – Provided transit work shop support – Detailed transit strategy
• Chestermere: – CRP is leading a public engagement to gauge community interest and
acceptance
Transit Oriented DevelopmentGenerally defined as a compact, walkable, typically mixed-use development near a rail stop, bus station, transit terminal or other transit facility
Private/Public Contract Framework
• Development of a consistent contractual framework for private/public service delivery model applicable regionally
• Example: Monitoring on-time performance
