Lumbopelvic & Hip Dysfunction in Female Patients Sarah Macchi, DC

SATURDAY 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM8 CE

DCSummary: This predominantly hands-on course will offer the participant an integrative approach to assessing and managing lumbopelvic & hip dysfunction in female patients. Taking a functional approach to patient care is essential if we are to effectively manage our patients with neuromusculoskeletal dysfunction. Knowing what tissue is injured and painful is important, however, successfully managing our patients’ conditions requires us to know why it hurts. It is through an understanding of how the musculoskeletal system functions, and being able to assess and manage areas of dysfunction that we will efficiently and effectively help our patients feel better and move better.

What to Expect: A functional manual approach to patient care will be discussed. Anatomy and biomechanics of the involved areas will be reviewed. Functional tests to identify key areas of dysfunction in the lumbopelvic & hip region will be demonstrated and practiced, as will Motion Palpation and movement analysis of the lumbopelvic & hip joints. Manual therapeutic techniques for managing dysfunction will be covered including: joint manipulation/mobilization, soft tissue techniques and active exercise therapy. Common conditions affecting the lumbopelvic & hip region will be discussed & rehabilitative exercises will be demonstrated & practiced. Class is limited to 60 participants.

Dr. Macchi holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from Lakehead University and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northwestern Health Sciences University. While at NWHSU, she was president of the Motion Palpation Club and completed her clinical externship at Mt. Lookout Chiropractic and Sports Injury Center under the direction of Dr. Mark King (MPI President). Dr. Macchi is a Certified Graston Technique® provider and DNS Certified Exercise Trainer.

Chiropractic Nutrition – Module 2 Chad Oler, ND This course fulfills the requirement to obtain Nutrition Counseling Certification in Wisconsin. Modules 3 & 4 scheduled in Fond du Lac for 9/30-10/1 & 10/21-10/22. Discount offered when you register for all 4 modules.

SAT 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM | SUN 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Summary: Incorporating nutrition into clinical practice requires more than a basic knowledge of when to use specific nutrients. In order to elicit lifelong dietary change and healing, certain skills are required. Module 2 provides a model on how to move your patients through lifestyle and dietary changes as well as how to design your office flow to maximize results and profits. We all need tools to get our jobs done; this seminar will outline several important testing and screening tools that can be used to help identify the underlying cause(s) that may need to be corrected in order optimize your patients’ results.Nutritional supplements can greatly speed up the healing process when used correctly. As health care providers, we need to know the supplements we are recommending are safe and effective. To that end, we will cover important nutrient-drug-food interactions that every practitioner needs to be aware of. We will help you see through claims of ‘high quality’ supplements and show you exactly how to differentiate between good quality and poor quality supplements. The difference could be life altering to your patients. Dr. Oler received his Doctorate in Naturopathy from the University of Natural Medicine in Santa Fe, NM. He is the founder of the Natural Path Health Center, an integrated complementary health care facility. In addition to clinical work with clients, Dr. Oler teaches extensively to medical professionals and the public, on ways to incorporate the scientific application of natural healing methods into their lives or practices.
