Licensing: License query performed via “softkey” for licensing on a single or on

multiple workstations of Windows Vista or Windows 7 or Windows 2008 Server operating systems.

Please refer to the document "System Requirement" for further information about the updates and service packs of third party products, which have been released for CADISON R13.0.1.

The CADISON Report-Generator and the import and export of data to Excel require Office 2007 or Later.

CADISON R13 64-bit can be used on a system, which has 32-bit version of MS Office 2010 installed. But using Office 32-Bit with CADISON 64-Bit reduces the performance of some CADISON modules. Furthermore the described constellation only works without installed PID-Designer for Visio.

CADISON R13 is released for execution on AutoCAD and AutoCAD Architecture. The use of CADISON with AutoCAD Mechanical is only possible with a profile based on the AutoCAD profile (“”).

Make sure to select Express Tools during AutoCAD installation. Otherwise the plotters (e.g. DWF6 ePlot) needed for CADISON functions are not available.

CADISON R13 is designed for deployment on a NTFS partition. Installation and use of CADISON R13 on a FAT partition may lead to undesired effects.

We recommend using CADISON R13 only in a homogeneous environment, this implies not to use different versions of CADISON.

    2. Installation Preparation Before the installation can be started, the system, on which CADISON R13 will be installed, should be inspected:

At first do run all additional programs that are necessary for CADISON R13 to verify their correct operation, e.g. AutoCAD and MS Office.

AutoCAD should be started at least once with the profile of the installing user. It is required to activate the AutoCAD profile once in addition for installations with AutoCAD Mechanical. Valid profile names: AutoCAD: , ACAD, AutoCAD AutoCAD Architecture: , ACAD, AutoCAD AutoCAD Mechanical:

Please ensure that the TCP/IP protocol is installed, and adjusted to the system.

Please ensure that you have administration rights for installation. CADISON R13 should be installed by the (Windows) user account which is intended to use the software. It is advised that the user account, which uses CADISON R13, shall get temporary administrator permissions for installation of CADISON R13.

Please ensure that the name of the installation directory do not contain blanks or special characters.

It should unconditionally be considered that Write access is enabled to all CADISON R13 directories (especially …\SYSTEM) for the Account “System” and the accounts of all CADISON users or for the account “Everyone”.

We recommend installing CADISON R13 on a separate partition, if possible.

The storage requirements for a full installation amounts to appr. 1.300 MB (without databases and project data).

We recommend installing DWG TrueView 2013 before installing CADISON. Please find this viewer and some AutoDesk servicepacks on the CADISON Installations-DVD in the directory Tools/ThirdParty.

    3. Update Installation Notes In the case of an update of an existing version of CADISON, we expressively point out to you to comply to the following items, in any case:

If you want to perform a version update older than CADISON 9.0, you should contact and coordinate with the CADISON hotline of ITandFactory GmbH in advance, in any case. Versant software and project databases need to be converted and updated which is challenging.

As a matter of course, backup procedures shall be performed on the respective system prior to installation. This pertains to all installed CADISON directories, including all data, that are possibly already installed, and which are not part of previous CADISON versions installed, such as e.g. object model adaptations.

Please export your self-provided libraries prior to installation!

Please refer to the CADISON hotline if you have any questions. Telephone +49 6196 93490 44 Fax +49 6196 93490 49 EMail [email protected]

  • ITandFactory GmbH CADISON_Installation.doc Page 10/21

    5. Choose root folder for configuration and program files, as well as the work folder for databases and projects.

If you want to include existing databases and project data to your new CADISON R13

environment, choose the work folder, where these data are residing.

  • ITandFactory GmbH CADISON_Installation.doc Page 11/21

    6. Define the scope of installation. For a standard installation, all specified standard

adjustments should be adopted as per setup recommendations. Also make sure to select only items which you have ordered.

You may naturally re-run setup at any time, and remove installed modules and add other modules to the installation.

You have the possibility to install language-dependent components additionally to the standard-language. This feature will install e.g. reports and templates for the selected additional language.

Consider that all default objects (visible in the object manager) will exist twice if you install R13 in English and in German language. So before initializing, make sure the Library-folder contains only default-objects for one language. To use default-objects of two languages, we suggest creating another CADISON-Domain in that language with its own Library-folder.

    7. If you have selected CADISON Designer (P&ID, 3D, etc.) and if more than one

version of AutoCAD is installed on your system, Setup will prompt you to select the AutoCAD version that you would like to use within CADISON R13. Only supported versions are listed here. Select the version you would like to use and click on “Next”.

If only one version of AutoCAD is installed on your system, Setup automatically uses it and in the further course no prompt will be displayed for selection of AutoCAD version. If Setup does not find a supported version but you are sure that it is installed properly, make sure to have started AutoCAD beforehand, so that a valid profile is created. In case of AutoCAD Mechanical, the profile needs to be activated.

    5. Procedure for a Client/Server Installation

Work to be done at the Server Server Support Installation procedure at the server is basically the same as for a client machine. So please follow the above described steps first. Note, that during the selection of modules it is necessary to choose the bullet “CADISON Server Support”.

File Access Permissions All future CADISON users need access on file level for the folder: „D:\ITF\CADISON“. It is recommended to use an Active Directory group named “CADISON_USERS” which contains all employees who shall work with CADISON. Give this group the permission “Modify” on the above mentioned folder. Procedure: Context menu of folder > Properties > Security > Edit > Add > type the name of the group “CADISON_USERS” into the empty field. See also screen on the next page.

  • ITandFactory GmbH CADISON_Installation.doc Page 16/21

Optional further restrictions If needed, it is possible to further restrict access rights inside folder ITF\CADISON for sub-directories. No access is needed for: ITF\CADISON\APP ITF\CADISON\LocalCFG ITF\CADISON\System ITF\CADISON\Documentation Read-only access is sufficient for e.g.: ITF\CADISON\Reports Share folder and map network drive Create a share on D:\ITF\CADISON (permission „Full access“ for user “Everybody”) Context menu of folder > Properties > Share > Permissions Map network drive (standard: „W:“, this drive letter needs to be identical on all client machines later) by selecting shared local folder „CADISON“.

    6. Post Installation

Configure Modules and Initialize System Upon completion of the installation, the following steps shall be performed before CADISON can be used. Depending on which kind of installation you are doing, these steps need to be executed on the server or on the local client machine.

    1. Installation of customer specific object models – if available.

    2. Use the “CADISON Config Manager” tool for the configuration of your CADISON system (to be found in Start > Programs > CADISON > Administration). Ensure that all required modules have been enabled.

    3. Initialization of the system on the database server or on local machine, depending on your demands (Start > Programs > CADISON > Administration > Re-initialize system databases). For a new installation, all options can be used as they are.

    4. Request and activate software licenses: „Start > Programs > CADISON > Administration > Registration and Licensing“. See separate documentation CADISON_Licensemanager.pdf.

    5. Check/start all CADISON R13 modules

In the first login after a new installation, please use the username "Admin" and the password "Admin". We recommend changing of the default password in the CADISON user management as soon as possible.

If you are using “Import default objects from disk” during the system initialization, then ensure that “Save objects to *.def files first” is enabled and that all following questions are affirmed.

Using CADISON 64-Bit with MS Office 2010 32-Bit CADISON R13 on a 64-bit system can be used with MS Office 64-bit and 32-bit. But using CADISON 64-bit with Office 32-bit forces to use a workaround, it will not work under normal conditions. We do not recommend this combination because the access on MS-Access databases is slowed down by the factor 4-8. Furthermore the described constellation only works without installed PID-Designer for Visio. The setup displays the following message, if there is found an installed Microsoft Office 2010 32-bit on the 64-bit system:

If you continue with the installation, the setup installs the 32-bit version of the "MS Access Database Engine" on the system. Normally, the 64-bit version of the Database Engine is installed here. After the installation of CADISON R13, run the following steps to complete the installation with this purpose-environment:

Insert the following entry in your CADISON.INI - Section [PHi-CADISON]:

    ADO64_COM32=ON

Copy the following two files from the Support folder of the CADISON R13 DVD into the "Winnt" folder of your CADISON installation. The existing files can be overwritten:

    MATDBMT_RD.dll JetInter_RD.dll

    Source:

    [CADISON R13 DVD]\Support\CADISON_64bit_To_ADO_32bit

    Target: …\CADISON\System\Winnt

Follow-up Installation / De-installation of Modules Setup supports the follow-up installation and subsequent de-installation of single features. Follow the menu “Start – Settings – Control Panel – Add/Remove Software” and highlight “CADISON 13.0.1”. Afterward you can choose between “Change” or “Remove”. Do select “Change” to add or remove CADISON features. Example: using CADISON with a different AutoCAD version Run the following steps if you would like to change the AutoCAD version that you are using with CADISON:

    1. Run the CADISON Setup as described above by activating the option “Change”. The CADISON R13 Setup is started.

    2. Select the button “Modify” in the Setup dialog box, and then click on the button “Next”. 3. In the dialog box “Custom Setup”, click on each installed “Designer” component

(P&ID, 3D, etc.) in the application tree. A context menu will be shown. Within this menu, choose the item “This feature will not be available”, and then click on the button “Next”. If you now verify this configuration by clicking the button “Install”, CADISON Designer will be removed from your system.

Afterward you have to run the CADISON R13 Setup again. Please select each “Designer” you want to use in the dialog box “Custom Setup”. Now select the item “This feature will be installed on local hard drive”. Setup then installs the necessary data and configures CADISON with the newly chosen AutoCAD version. A fresh re-boot of the system is not necessary. A system initialization is not necessary as well.

    7. Installation of the Network License Manager (NLM) For the installation of the Network-License manager start the setup of “Sentinel RMS Licensemanager” from the installation DVD. If an older release of Sentinel is installed on your system, uninstall this old version of software before installing the new release. For additional information refer CADISON_Licensemanager.pdf document.

Licensing In order to re-adjust CADISON R13 to operate with Network Licensing Management procedures, use the CADISON Config Manager or the Domain Assistant to change license mode.

You will find further information in the document CADISON_Licensemanager.pdf.
