✔ Management Profile: Hakan Mehmet Maltepe – the sole partner of Relocalist, worked at HSBC Trade Department for 6years as a Business Development Manager. Seeing a gap in the relocation market, he left the bank to set up Relocalist inJuly 2014 in Istanbul. Before starting his professional career at HSBC, Hakan graduated from German High School inIstanbul and continued his education at Koc University, getting his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He alsoattended Bosphorus University International Trade Management Graduate Program with a thesis subject of “FactorsAffecting Mobile Phone Repurchase Behavior of American and Turkish University Students” which was completed in 2009.

✔ Real Estate Consultancy: Relocalist has great expertise and experience in finding the right accommodation to suit yourtastes and needs, when you come to Istanbul. We have bilateral agreements with well-known real estate consultancycompanies which have vast portfolios in the city. In addition, Relocalist can also act as a real estate consultancycompany, for it has strong connections with many of the landlords owning flats, including those in areas where Expatsmostly live. Furthermore, we can recommend you some property to buy and sell for investment purposes.

✔ Hotel Accommodations: If you need to stay in a hotel (for example, while you are researching or in the first weeks afteryour arrival) our company can offer you a wide variety of hotels in different areas of Istanbul. We have specialagreements with international hotel chains in order to provide you the best service at the lowest cost.

✔ Important Notice 1: The best way to search and find your desired accommodation is to fill out the form that Relocalistwill send to your e-mail address. Then we can look for options which we will shar with you as soon as possible.

Youcan rely on some local hotels as much as you trust the international hotel chains which have introduced a standardservice globally. The governmentalways launches a new law and even companies which are specialized in Residence and Work Permits consultancy getlost among provisions because they are cancelled and amended frequently. On the other hand, the process has changedthis year together with the state departments that are involved in granting the approvals for applications.

✔ Security: Relocalist can arrange private security staff as well as house & office alarm systems from the top securitycompany in Turkey.

✔ School Search: Our company can assist you on education. We have an international education system in Istanbul;orthere are specific educational establishments, such as German, British, Italian, French, Spanish, American etc. In Istanbul,there are reputable and well-known schools that were founded in 19th century by Europeans and Americans. Dependingon the criteria these schools require for entering, you can select the right school from the list.

Transportation

✔ Private minivans and taxis: If you would like to be picked up from airport, your home, office or any other locationsecurely, we can arrange a private vehicle based on your request, since we have bilateral agreements with private rent acar and minivan & cab companies. Besides, we have our own company vehicles that can also be used for this service.

✔ Public transportation: Please inform our company regarding your Istanbulkart (smart ticket) needs. The Istanbulkart isvalid for boarding buses, funiculars, LRT, subway, commuter trains, ferryboats and trams operated by the MetropolitanMunicipality. Cash payment of these transport systems is not possible. Reduced fees are applicable for up to five transferswithin two hours to other vehicles on the transportation network.

✔ Important Notice 1: It is for your benefit to download an application in your Smart Phone (if you have one) that measuresthe price of a route when you take a taxi on your own. Do not pay more than required.

✔ Important Notice Warnings and other clues do not aim to tell you what you can look up from Internet search engines but totell you what you should know about Turkey and specifically about Istanbul given that this is your first visit to thecountry/city.

Traffic

✔ Population: Istanbul is one of the most crowded cities in the world in terms of population and vehicle density. With a

population of 14.1 million, the city forms the largest urban agglomeration in Europe. With regards to vehicle number, there

is 1 vehicle for every 4 citizen in Istanbul representing 3.5 million vehicles.

✔ Rush Hours: Especially in rush hours (07:15-09:15 and 16:30-19:45), it is not a good idea to drive a car or to take a

taxi/bus. The best options are ferries, subway trains & trains and Metrobus (where available; it has a transit separate way)

respectively. We would like to warn you that pedestrian density is also at critical levels during rush hours and it is highly

recommended to use public transportation out of rush hour intervals.

✔ Business & Touristic Trips to another city: There are 2 airports in Istanbul, one in the Asian side and the other one in

the European side. You may use air transportation if your trip will be more than 3 hours by car. Traffic inside the city can

disappoint you regarding your expected arrival time. Flight tickets can be purchased by our company as you provide us all

necessary information regarding your vacation.
