Finest results demand the best equipment. It is based on this premise that we have compiled our new range around the topic of welding technology. joke multiSpot technology forms the heart of the range and allows very fine weldings on all materials. In addition, you will find everything that you need in terms of accessories and workplace equipment.

In particular however, you will find above all one thing in addition to all the „hardware“: know how. Our team under the leadership of Peter Elvedji will offer you advice right from the outset based on a solid three decades of experience. In our training programmes, we will impart the desired portion of knowledge in different welding courses of between one and three days‘ duration - on your premises or ours.

Our assortment of welding fillers has likewise been thoroughly revised. Specifically tailored to the requirements in tool making and mould building, our joke Fill wires are available on reels or as rods in packaging units to suit your consumption.

joke multiSpotThe Technology

Durable repair welding and shortest repair times on moulds and tools are a must in today’s modern production environments. The lack of replacement tools and increas-ingly shorter production times demand the fastest, yet nevertheless impeccable repairs – under the same roof. Conventional TIG welding has too many disadvantages here, such as fusion penetration, distortion and structural transformation and therefore usually does not allow a final repair job on-site and usually render additional laser welding necessary. This costs time and above all money.

joke multiSpot 3The joke multiSpot technology provides you with the chance to repair your tools safely and cost-efficiently on-site. You there-fore not only gain an important piece of freedom from external service providers, but also achieve results with this system, which are largely consistent with laser welding quality. Thanks to the joke multiSpot technology external labour, waiting and down-time is reduced to a minimum.

SelectionThree devices leave you freedom of choice customised to your requirements: The „large“ multiSpot AC/DC pulse offers the full functio-nal scope for pulsed welding on steel and aluminium. Alongside this, the „DC pulse“ model offers the same fine results - but exclusively for use on steel. Those who are able to do without the pulse function will find the right system for first-class welding results on steel and aluminium in the form of the multiSpot 3 AC/DC.

TechnologyThe special electrical arc formation allows spot-on welding. No other system places finer points and seam on the material on sur-faces, edges, grooves and engravings, etc. In the latest generation now also even with additional filler wires of 0.1 mm and more! Penetration and shrinkage in addition to dis-tortion of the base material are respectively reduced to such an extent that they no longer have any technical significance. The result: optimum connections and high-strength diffusion melts.

Everything ACCESSORY to it allOur new welding torches leave you freedom of choice: weld freehand or take up position precisely over the workpiece with the aid of the cross table. The foot switch and foot con-troller govern the welding energy and pulses. The transport trolleys make your multiSpot mobile and therefore usable anywhere to-gether with its accessories. Gloves, helmets, lighting, a special welding microscope and other „little helpers“ complete the peripheral equipment. To top it all, we offer you in the form of the high quality joke Fill welding fillers special wires in alloys optimised for tool making and mould building.

5From a technical viewpoint ....

Special pulsed electric arc

Very fine welding points and seams

Cost-effective repairs in your own company

Accessories for flexible application possibilities

Specially developed for pulsed welding. The special electrical arc formation allows spot-on weldings. No other system places finer points and seam on the material on surfaces, edges, grooves and engravings, etc. Such fine and precise wel-dings only existed up to now with laser.

A machine torch and three hand torches leave you free choice of processing: weld freehand or position precisely over the workpiece with the aid of the cross table and weld with pinpoint accuracy. The welding pulses are triggered using the foot pulse switch and the foot controller allows you sensitive control of exactly the welding energy required in TIG, TIG pulse and AC welding.

Your welding station on the corresponding transport trolley makes you mobile and mano-euvrable. The automatic welding helmet with an optional push-fit magnifying glass ensures optimum visibility during work.

To be more precise, with additional filler wires of 0.1 mm and more. Penetration and shrinkage in addition to distortion of the base material are reduced to a technically insignificant minimum.

The joke multiSpot technology has revolutio-nised repair and modification welding in tool making and mould building. Simple, rapid and safe - the ideal system for efficient in-house tool repair.

Tungsten electrodes, blueContains lanthanum special additives for per-fect ignition even at the lowest inverter device current intensities. Very good service life and optimum re-ignition in the hot and cold state. Universally usable with direct and alternating current. Non-radioactive!

Interesting facts about tungsten electrodesThe best welding device can only display its specific characteristics when the entire system is functioning correctly. In this case of the TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) method, this includes to a particularly great extent the tungsten electrode. The alloy, the purity, the heat treatment and some further aspects de-termine whether the melt will be able to occur as desired on the workpiece.

At joke, attention has been paid for many years now to use of the highest quality materials. Use of the so-called „thoriated“ electrodes still on the market is completely avoided. These electrodes usually marked RED or ORANGE are radioactive and therefore particularly harmful to health. All the electrodes available from joke are therefore free of radioactivity of any kind.

In addition to use of the right alloy, the tip is of crucial importance. The tip angle should be approx. 15° - 25° for fine TIG weldings. It is essential that grinding be performed in the

longitudinal direction in order to allow unim-peded electron flow up to the tip, as a result of which the desired narrow electric arc arises. The electrode surface should always be metallically bright and clean.

Common commercially available grinding devices with corundum or diamond discs can be used to grind the electrodes. Special electrode grinding devices with an adjustable angle, extraction filter and other auxiliaries can be used for further optimisation - ask our technicians.

The special joke multiSpot pulse arc has a unique status. This highly concentrated individual pulse requires a grinding technique that deviates from the norm. In this case, the tip is given its surface crossways. This grin-ding technique prevents the otherwise usual formation of an oxide coating on the surface, thereby permanently guaranteeing good igniti-on pulses. This allows perfect weldings at low current intensities and with thin filler wires.

Welding training courses Repair welding • TIG welding

Individual welding training courses for beginners and advanced welders

Repair welding has acquired an important and central role in the field of toolmaking and mould building and in other areas too. Specific use of the right system saves a great deal of time and money. It does not stop at the purchase of a welding device however, since as in many cases, the same applies here: knowledge is power.

We therefore not only offer you the corresponding “hardware” in the form of our different welding systems, but also impart the appropriate know how about machines, materials and their possibilities.

In our welding courses, you will acquaint yourself with the common welding methods on one or several days and will be trained in the right welding me-thod for you as intensively as your level of knowledge and aims require.

Consult us about your individual welding training. We will be pleased to advise you and compile you a customised programme tailored to your needs, even on your premises as you wish.

Mr. Peter ElvedjiTel. +49 (0) 22 04 / 8 39-548 • [email protected]

Our trainer Marinko Ostojić is a TÜV-

approved welding specialist and knows

exactly what he is talking about in

order to be optimally equipped for your

questions.

Welding training courses Repair welding • TIG welding

FactsNumber of participants: up to max. 8 persons

Duration: 3 days (8.30 a.m. - 5 p.m.)Leadership: Peter Elvedji and Marinko Ostojić

Venue: joke Technology GmbH, Bergisch Gladbach or on your premises!

Equipment: completely equipped workplaces with devices and consumables.

Included in course fee: practice material, consumables, course documents in a folder, participation certificate, lunch and drinks

during breaks.

Do you wish to further train personally or refresh and update your know how acquired years ago? If so, this 3-day course is just what you need.

„Welding in tool making and mould building“ means fine fingertip control. Microfine weldings are often only detec-table with a microscope.

Yet these tiny welding points and seams are of major signi-ficance, since they frequently make faulty moulds and tools usable again and avoid the highly expensive reconstruc-tion of the components required for production.

One speaks of repair welding in this connection. It is cer-tain that this needs learning from the outset in order to be equipped for an „emergency“.

During the training course „Welding in tool making and mould building“, all the relevant technologies are dealt with in theory and practice:

Pulsed welding makes extremely fine weldings possible, yet conventional TIG welding is already adequate for many applications.

What are the differences; when do I choose which method; what do I need at my workplace? The joke welding course provides the answers.

Have we aroused your interest? If so, visit us today at www.joke.de and secure yourself your individual place in one of our upcoming „Welding in tool making and mould building“ courses!

Prefer to phone us?Mr Peter Elvedji remains at your disposal at any time at +49 (0) 22 04 / 8 39-548.

This chrome material has stabilising additives and is very well suited for corrosion-resistant steels in mould building. Can be quenched and tempered and is likewise rust and wear-resistant owing to an increased Cr content. Polishable, erodible and nitratable. Etchable to a limited extent, non-chrome-platable. Particularly suited for moulds and tools when GRP is being processed. Hardness of the weld material: 45 - 50 HRC.

Materials: 1.2082, 1.2083, 1.2316, 1.4115, 1.4120, STAVAX and similar Cr steels.

Ni-Co-Mo special alloy specifically for the alu-minium and zinc die-cast field. The martensitic weld material is extre-mely crack-resistant and tough with minimal preheating. Particu-larly suitable for highly stressed hot-working tools, highly resistant to temperature change and corrosion-proof. Hard-ness approx. 30-35 HRC; hardnesses of approx. 50-54 HRC are achieved through artificial aging in addition to pressure and hammering.
