REPORT FOR 2-10-2014 ON THE CELEBRATION OF SANITATION PLEDGE DAY AS A PART OF THE CELEBRATION OF THE SANITATION AWARENESS WEEK AT GOVT. INDUSTRIAL TRAINING INSTITUTE FOR WOMEN, SECTOR 11, and CHANDIGARH. The students and staff of the Govt. Industrial Training Institute for Women, Sector 11-C, Chandigarh celebrated on 2-10-2014 SANITATION PLEDGE DAY at the Institute premises, which was also being observed as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan all over India. Earlier, at 9.00 A.M., all the staff and students assembled in the Multi Purpose Hall of the Institute where a programme for the celebration of SANITATION PLEDGE DAY was arranged for them. Within no time, the Principal of the Institute reached the venue of the programme and the programme was started at 9.10 A.M. At that time, all the students stood up and welcomed the Principal by raising slogan on Cleanliness Drive and Sanitation Awareness Week. Senior Faculty Members while welcoming the Principal and the students highlighted the achievements made by the students and staff members during the celebration of the aforesaid WEEK at this Institute in which they voluntarily cleaned their class rooms/labs./theory rooms/corridors /canteen/hostel mess/hostel premises/open spaces/cycle-cum-scooter shed, main entrance/area outside the main gate/ play grounds/lawns/open air theatre area/administrative block, etc., as a result of it, the Institute has now been giving a bridal look. The Principal of the Institute while speaking on the occasion, urged the students and staff not to allow to let down this spirit among them and continue this habit of keeping cleanliness in and around their homes, work places, class rooms, labs., theory rooms, etc. and do not allow dust to gather on their furniture, tools, equipments and machinery kept in their class rooms, labs., etc. This practice should continue throughout the year on daily basis. He further added that on every morning, we should ensure that our seats and working places are cleaned and we study in the healthy environments. In the Institute, every corner should be kept neat and clean. He further desired that all the staff engaged for cleanliness work in the toilets, labs., class rooms, etc. should ensure the performance of their duties on their parts diligently and honestly so that positive results should come out and the Institute presents a neat and clean look all the times. At 9.45 A.M., all the students and staff lined up for taking oath on Sanitation Pledge Day, which was got administered by the Principal to all the students and staff. He spoke each sentence very loudly on the mike and all the students and staff followed him with great enthusiasm. It looked that all the staff and students have united themselves to achieve the target fixed by our PM of India for keeping the entire India totally clean and free from garbage. Each word of the Pledge was self explanatory and the students and staff in a very loud voice followed the Principal in taking their

The students and staff of the Govt. Industrial Training Institute for Women, Sector 11-C,

Chandigarh celebrated on 2-10-2014 SANITATION PLEDGE DAY at the Institute premises, which was

also being observed as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan all over India. Earlier, at 9.00 A.M., all the staff and

students assembled in the Multi Purpose Hall of the Institute where a programme for the

celebration of SANITATION PLEDGE DAY was arranged for them. Within no time, the Principal of the

Institute reached the venue of the programme and the programme was started at 9.10 A.M. At that

time, all the students stood up and welcomed the Principal by raising slogan on Cleanliness Drive

and Sanitation Awareness Week.

explanatory and the students and staff in a very loud voice followed the Principal in taking their

Pledge on this auspicious day of 2 nd October, 2014 – the Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi Ji. After the

taking of Pledge, National Anthem was sung, for which pin drop silence was observed and everyone

sung this National Anthem with great carefulness and dedication towards the Nation.

After administering the Pledge by the Principal, the students and staff were again engaged in

the cleanliness work relating to the class rooms, labs., canteen, mess, cycle-cum-scooter shed, main

entrance and outside the main entrance, Multi Purpose Hall, Open Air theatre, etc.

After this, a Brain Storming Session was conducted in which students and staff participated.

They were asked to give in writing the suggestions for keeping the Sanitation Drive alive throughout

the coming year, as per initiative of worthy PM of India. Every staff member gave suggestions in

writing, which were handed over to the members of the Cleanliness Committee of the Institute,

who will compile these suggestions and select the best ones for implementation in the Institute

After ensuring cleanliness in and outside the Campus, the efforts made by the staff and

students were recognized and they were given off for the rest of the day at 1.00 P.M.

The achievements of the Sanitation Awareness Week have been immense. The students and

staff learnt too much from their voluntary participation in various cleanliness activities. They

assured that they will continue these efforts and would definitely contribute 100 hours in a year to

achieve better results and emerge as successful by participating in the initiative given by our revered

PM of India.

Industrial Training Institute for Women, Sector 11-C, Chandigarh gathered in an Assembly on 2nd October, 2014 in the Multi Purpose Hall of the Institute to take a Pledge, as a part of the celebration of the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan launched by PM of India throughout India

The staff of the GITIW, Chandigarh engaged in the Brain Storming Session within the Campus of the Institute. They were seen noting down their suggestions for the continuance of the Sanitation Drive for the next one year, as suggested by the PM of India. Later, their suggestions were collected and the Cleanliness Committee was given the task of selecting the best suggestions for implementation in the Institute.
