Camp Roanoke ExplorerThe Explorer program provides a safe and fun co-ed residential experience in a pristine outdoor environment. Your days will be spent canoeing, hiking, climbing our rock wall, playing field games, making arts and crafts, learning about the environment, shooting archery and many more exciting camp activities! Nightly events include; swimming, dancing, skit/talent performances, camp-fires, singing and star gazing.

Camp Roanoke PioneerThis program takes a hands-on approach to learning and fun! Experience the latest in green technology with an on-site learning lab, and learn about the natural world with an emphasis on environmental sustainability. Your days also will be filled with fun camp activities like canoeing, crafts, field games, campfires, archery, the low ropes course and more. Whether you’re a budding scientist, or just want to have fun in the great outdoors with new friends, this camp is for you!


Rising 5 & 6 Weekly Jun10-Aug10 Sun- Fri $425 Camp Roanoke VoyagerThe Voyager program is an exciting co-ed residential experience that engages children in activities ranging from canoeing to rock wall climbing, venturing onto our low and high challenge courses, mountain boarding, archery and even real rock climbing. The campers will also have time for arts and crafts, environmental education, creeking, hiking and horseback riding.



Camp Roanoke AdventureThe Adventure program is designed to immerse campers into a total outdoor experience. Campers will initially be based at Camp Roanoke and embark upon new adventures daily! You will participate in a variety of activities to include: camping, rock climbing, kayaking, low and high course experience, mountain boarding, rock wall climbing, environmental education, traditional camp activities and more!



Camp Roanoke OutpostYour week Begins at camp and then ventures off-site to experience three nights of tent camping, a day on the river, backpacking, and rock climbing. Campers will also participate on the high and low ropes courses and practice outdoor living skills. All the while, learning valuable leave no trace principles and gaining environmental awareness.


Rising 8 - 10 Once Jul22-Jul 27 Sun- Fri $495

Camp Roanoke New River Gorge TrekJoin us on our trip to wild and wonderful West Virginia! This Trek is an extreme experience not to be missed. Campers will begin their trip at Camp Roanoke going through the low ropes course as well as practicing to climb on our rock wall. They will then journey to West Virginia where they will experience tent style living, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, hiking and environmental education in the beautiful and historic New River Gorge. This camp is too awesome to miss!

Full Day

Camp Roanoke DiscoveryAges 5-11. Calling all campers entering Kindergarten through 5th grades who are looking for an outdoor adventure based day camp experience. Participants will be introduced to a wide range of activities that include: archery (ages 7 and up), arts and crafts, field games, leadership development, rock wall climbing, hiking, creeking, special events, a weekly field trip and much more! Included in the costs are a morning and afternoon snack, a delicious hot lunch and field trip fees. Each week will also include a trip to Splash Valley Water Paark! Don’t miss out on this great experience as Discovery program is limited to 40 campers per one week session. Free satellite transportation is available from Tanglewood Mall.

Activities include arts & crafts, cooking, games, swimming, daily field trips and much more each week. All field trips, activities and 2 daily snacks are included in weekly fee. Campers must bring a bag lunch; no glass containers, please. Energetic, experienced staff will lead children in a summer of F-U-N! Each week will also include a trip to Splash Valley Water Park! A $25 deposit per child per week due at registration; balance due 1 week prior to the starting date of each camp week. All fees are non-refundable. Nine weeks to choose from. Green Ridge Full Day Summer CampAges 5-11. Green Ridge Recreation Center’s most popular summer day camp! Your child will spend the summer or just a couple weeks (10 to choose from) with us enjoying all that Green Ridge and the Roanoke Valley has to offer. Your camper’s week will be filled with arts, crafts, sports, games, swimming at Splash Valley and the indoor pool, field trips and more. They are sure not to get bored! All activities and two daily snacks are included in the weekly fee. Campers must pack a daily lunch, swimsuit, towel and athletic shoes. A $25 per week deposit is due at time of registration and remaining balance will be scheduled through automatic draft of your bank card. Green Ridge members receive an additional $10 discount per week.

If so, our NEW half day version of Green Ridge Summer Day Camp is perfect for you! Energetic, experienced staff will lead children in a summer of F-U-N! Mad Science CampAges 6-12. Your child will be able to touch, see, hear, smell and taste what science is really all about. This camp is a daily combination of in-class discovery and exploration, outdoor games and physical activities and hands-on applications of the scientific principles presented. Campers create a variety of take-home projects and participate in snack-tivities while exploring how science affects the world around us.

American Girls CampAges 6-12. Bring your American Girl doll (or favorite doll) to summer camp! Each day we will have a new theme for you and your doll. If so we have the perfect camp that will allow them to spend a week with an area varsity baseball team improving their baseball skills. Each camper will be instructed on the basics of hitting, fielding, pitching and base running with special attention paid to proper fundamentals.

Softball CampsAges 6-12. Our Youth softball camps are designed to teach fundamental softball skills in a fun and exciting environment. Campers will be instructed on the basics of hitting, infieliding, and base running with special attention paid to proper fundaments. Each camp is lead by the Virginia Extreme Force travel softball coaches with numerous players from local middle and high schools acting as counselors for the week. The registration fee includes a tee shirt, drinks, snacks and prizes throughout the week. Registration is limited to allow for a camper to staff ratio of 7:1. Each participant is required to come prepared for play which includes active wear, a helmet and glove. Campers may bring their own bat if desired.

Archery CampAges 8-14. Roanoke County’s archery program is designed to open the world of archery to children in a safe and fun environment. The camp’s core content includes archery history, safety, technique, equipment, mental concentration, and self-improvement. All instructors are certified by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (VDGIF) and have undergone a certification program referred to as BAI, ‘Basic Archery Instructor.’ The program is the perfect opportunity to open the world of archery to children.
