The Green Ridge Add-On Program al-lows your child to participate in Green Ridge Summer Day Camp in the morning and afternoon but still attend the Themed Camp of their choice. This gives working parents the perfect option to add variety to your child’s summer plans. You must register for BOTH the themed camp and the add-on listed below. Please note that children must have completed a year of Kindergarten in order to take part in this experience. Green Ridge Summer Day CampThere’s no way your kids will be bored this summer, when they sign up for full day camp at Green Ridge! This program combines the ‘healthy fun’ of Green Ridge Recreation Center and Splash Valley Water Park, with the excitement of organized activities from our experienced staff. Your camper’s week will be filled with arts, crafts, sports, games, swimming at Splash Valley and indoor pool, field trips and more. All activities and two daily snacks are included in the weekly fee. Campers must pack a daily lunch, swimsuit, towel and athletic shoes. A $25 per week deposit is due at time of registration and the remaining balance will be sched-uled through automatic draft of your bank card. Green Ridge members receive an additional discount per week. Participants must be RISING 1st graders and have completed a year of Kindergarten. Sign up for all 10 full weeks of enrichment, or simply select the weeks you need. Green Ridge members save an additional $10 off!

Kids in Camp at Penn Forest ElementaryEnergetic, experienced staff will lead children in a summer of F-U-N with activities including arts & crafts, cooking, games, swimming, field trips and much more each week. Three field trips a week, activities and 2 daily snacks are included in weekly fee. Campers must bring a bag lunch (no glass containers). A $25 deposit per child per week due at registration; balance due one week prior to the starting date of each camp week. All fees are non-refundable. Nine weeks to choose from. KIC will not meet Monday, July 4th due to the holiday.

Nature Quest Camp (rising grades 2-5)From the ridges to the river, we have some exploring to do! Quiet observation and energizing challenges combine for an experience that includes Leave No Trace practices, scientific discoveries, art, and hands-on investigation. Join this naturalist-led camp and discover Ex-plore Park’s forests, meadows, and streams in a new way. Snacks pro-vided daily. Please bring a bag lunch and a water bottle.

Mountain Quest Camp (rising grades 6-8)Get ahead of the game with this week long day camp dedicated to the world of outdoor sports. Learn skills of the trade from experienced staff with an emphasis on education, ethics, and fun! Nail bull’s-eyes at the archery range, practice wilderness survival, hook a trout from the Roanoke River, orienteer the diverse terrain, and gain experience in hunter education, wildlife conservation, leave no trace, and animal track identification. Paddleboarding will also be offered during this program for participants who can swim. Snacks are provided daily. Please bring a bag lunch and water bottle.



Ridge Ramblers Camp (rising grades 6-8)Ramble on over to Explore Park for a week long day camp where you will be immersed in exhilarating adventures. Cruise the mountain bike trails and explore the diverse terrain while hiking, cross country run-ning, and orienteering. Campers will also participate in archery, team-building, nature crafts, wilderness survival skills, and paddle boarding for those who can swim. Snacks are provided daily. Participants must bring their own bikes and helmets. Please bring a bag lunch and water bottle.

Camp Roanoke: Voyager Looking for real summer excitement? The Voyager program is an ex-hilarating co-ed residential experience that engages youth, entering grades 6 and 7, in activities ranging from canoeing to rock climbing. The campers will also participate in: arts and crafts, environmental ed-ucation, high ropes course and zip line, mountain boarding, creeking, hiking, horseback riding (optional for an additional fee), the climbing tower, and more! Registration is limited to 14 campers per week. Tui-tion includes all meals, lodging, and transportation.

Camp Roanoke: Adventure Take your summer adventure to the next level with this program designed for new and veteran campers alike. Throughout the week, campers will experience activities such as: high and low ropes course, zip line, kayaking, environmental education, rock climbing, hiking and more! The session will begin at Camp Roanoke and then travel to West Virginia for a three day, two night camping trip. Registration is limit-ed to 12 campers per week. Tuition includes all meals, camping fees, equipment, and transportation.



Camp Roanoke: ExplorerWant to create memories of a lifetime while enjoying a pristine outdoor environment? The Explorer program provides a safe and fun co-ed, res-idential experience for campers entering 3rd and 4th grades. Your days will be spent: canoeing, hiking, climbing our rock wall, playing field games, making arts and crafts projects, learning about the environment, archery, and many more exciting camp activities! Limited to 12 campers per one week session. Tuition includes all meals and lodging.



Camp Roanoke: Pioneer Designed for kids with a passion for the natural world, this program takes a hands-on approach to learning and fun! Experience what it is like to venture through the woods, enjoying all that nature has to offer. Learn how people interact with the environment, focusing on sustainability. Camp Roanoke: TrekChoose between two exciting off-site adventures. Travel to the New River Gorge in West Virginia for an extreme experience not to be missed. Ex-perience tent style living, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, hiking and environmental education deep in the mountains. If the ocean suits you better, try our Beach & Surfing Trek, where you’ll travel to the east coast and set up camp right next to the beach; making new friends as you explore local habitats while learning the basics of surfing, sea kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding. There will also be plenty of beach play, swimming, and evening sunsets. No experience needed. Space is limited to only 12 campers for Beach Trek and 10 campers for New River trek. Tuition includes all meals, camping fees, transportation and equipment.

Horseback Riding CampSaddle up and get ready for a full week of fun on horseback! We’ve part-nered with Reba Farm in Bedford County to offer a hands-on, 6-night experience including lodging, meals, snacks and beverages. Learn to ride without any previous experience. Plus get the horsemanship skills on the ground you need; including grooming, horse tack, nutrition, first aid, reining and more! Camp will end with a show on Saturday at Noon which family and friends are invited to attend. The course is limited to 10 participants. Children and adults are both welcome to enroll. This is an overnight camp intended for families!

NEW: Website DesignInterested in website development? Look no further! During this 5-day camp, students will be introduced to HTML, CSS and JavaScript in order to develop their own website. HTML is the most basic building block of a webpage, CSS is a style sheet language and JavaScript is a high-level programming language. In understanding each of these languages, stu-dents will be able to develop a dynamic and responsive website at the end of the camp. Students will receive professional instruction through-out the camp and there is no prerequisite. At the end of the camp, stu-dents will have knowledge of the following program languages: HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

The course will teach on 3D design, through CAD, basic programming and will walk you through basic part design by demonstrating how that design can come to life! Golf Camp for TotsDoes your child wonder where your husband goes every Saturday morning or would you like your child to learn a sport they will be able to play for the rest of their life? If so, send them to a series of weekly one day clinics led by PGA Golf professionals from local golf courses where they will learn the proper fundamentals needed to begin playing golf. The clinics will focus on learning the grip, swing, putting, chipping, golf etiquette, and life skills. Campers are required to bring their own age ap-propriate equipment to camp. A limited number of prearranged loaner sets are available for free by contacting Roanoke County Parks.

Golf Camp at First TeeDo you want your child to learn a sport they will be able to play for the rest of their life? Based off of the popular game, we’ll be creating various Angry Birds levels, developing games, activities and crafts. You won’t leave ‘angry’!



Frozen FrenzyLet It Go...Let It Go! Let your child go to the ‘coolest’ camp of the sum-mer! We will dance, sing, make crafts and have a frozen good time. A special performance will be held on the final day of camp. Children may dress up but it is not required.



American Girls CampKit, Samantha, Julie-which one do you have? Bring your American Girl doll (or favorite doll) to summer camp! Each day we will have a new theme for you and your doll. Monday will be Carnival Day, Tuesday will be 70’s Day, Wednesday will be Native American Day, Thursday will be Pioneer Day, and Friday will be a celebration of the American Girl of the Year-Lea (which includes pool time because Lea loves water!). Splash CampSplash into a week of fun! Camp participants will spend time enjoying both our indoor and outdoor water parks, water games, themed crafts, group swimming lesson with safety tips, and activities under the direct supervision of our camp staff and American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors. Participants should be comfortable in the water and life jackets are provided. Children will also get a chance to have supervised free play in the pools daily during camp time.

Children will have a group swimming lesson, themed crafts, games, water safety les-son in a structured environment led by camp staff and certified Amer-ican Red Cross Water Safety Instructors. Focus on group swim lesson will be safety first. Children will also get a chance to have supervised free play in the pools daily during camp time. Children must be potty trained.
