Ruffled Edge BlanketUse the woven grid lines on the fabric to get accurate cuts.

From each of the Embrace™ double gauze fabrics, cut one 47” square.

From Solid Aruba, cut (8) eight 6” x 47” strips. Sew ends together with a 1/2” seam allowance to create a continuous loop for ruffle.

Fold ruffle loop in half lengthwise, wrong sides together, using the woven grid lines as a guide, and press.

LLay front layer of Embrace™ double gauze over middle layer. Pin well and baste together with a long straight stitch.

Mark ruffle loop with water soluble pen in 1/4 segments. You will use these to apply the gather evenly.

GGather ruffle to measure 188”. Pin ruffle to right side of blanket front/middle, aligning marks on ruffle with corners of blanket. Stitch ruffle all the way around with a scant 1/2” seam allowance, rounding the corners for ease of construction.

Lay back layer of Embrace™ double gauze over blanket front, right sides together, sandwiching the ruffle inside. Pin well.

SStitch together with a 1/2” seam allowance, leaving a 6-inch gap on one side.

Turn inside out, press edges. Press under seam allowance and gap and pin well around the blanket. Top stitch 1/4” from ruffle seam to secure all layers. If you have decorative stitches on your sewing machine, this is a perfect time to use one!
