Grand Canyon

The most common way to experience the GrandCanyon is to simply view it from either theNorth or South Rim. However, there are manyother ways to experience this UNESCO WorldHeritage Site. One of the best ways to understand the scale ofthe Grand Canyon is to hike it. Rafting and helicopter tours are two otherpopular ways to experience the canyon’swonders.

The Sonoran Desert

When most people picture the SouthwesternUnited States they think of the desert. While Arizona does have a desert it’s only foundin the Southern part of the state. In the Sonoran Desert you’ll find many plantsand animals that don’t exist anywhere else inthe world. Besides hiking visitors can experience the desertvia horseback or even hot air balloon.

History

History buffs will enjoy visiting Tombstone,Arizona, the location of the Gunfight at the O.K.Corral. The event is routinely reenacted by agroup called the Boot Hill Gunslingers. In the town you'll also find a number ofbuildings originally erected during frontiertimes.Arizona is home to numerous ancient historysites as well.The Casa Grande Ruins National Monument andthe Montezuma Castle National Monument aretwo sites built by the ancient people that used toinhabit the Arizona area.

No matter the season you visit you’ll findwonderful weather somewhere in the state. If it’s snowing in Flagstaff, it’s likely warm inTucson. Similarly, if you find Phoenix’s summerheat to be too overwhelming you can findrespite in the Coconino National Forest inFlagstaff. Arizona gets an average of 300 days of sunshineeach year, so if you’re craving some sunshineduring the winter visit Arizona. Skiing enthusiasts won’t be disappointed tolearn that the state also has a number of skiresorts located in the northern cities of Alpine,Flagstaff, and Tucson.
