THE MYSTERY OF THE BLESSED TRINITY

Today we celebrate the solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. The Church sets aside this Sunday to focus our a en on on the mystery of the Blessed Trinity, God who is one, but three per-sons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The first reading from Deuteronomy emphasizes both God’s awesome greatness and amazing nearness. It might seem beyond belief, but the God of all crea on speaks to us, protects us, and guides us. The second reading from Saint Paul’s Le er to the Ro-mans describes how we are to relate to the three persons who are one God. We are led by the Spirit to meet God the Father as adopted children. Our adop on is such that we are even heirs with our brother, Christ, the second person of the Trinity, in whose sufferings we must also share. In Ma hew’s Gospel, Jesus speaks with his authority as God and sends us to teach and bap ze in the name of the Trinity. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

EL MISTERIO DE LA SANTÍSIMA TRINIDAD Hoy celebramos la solemnidad de la San sima Trinidad. La Iglesia dedica este domingo a centrar nuestra atención en el mis-terio de la San sima Trinidad, Dios, que es uno, en tres personas: Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo. La primera lectura de Deuteronomio hace énfasis en la gran-deza imponente de Dios y su cercanía asombrosa. Puede parecer increíble, pero el Dios de toda la creación nos habla, nos protege y nos guía. La segunda lectura, tomada de la carta de San Pablo a los Romanos, describe la forma en que se relacionan las tres per-sonas que son un solo Dios. El Espíritu nos guía para cumplir con Dios Padre como hijos adop vos. A Lifelong Path That Ends in God

Jesus commands believers to go out and teach the good news and bap ze them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Bap sm is not just a commitment to Jesus it is an immersion into the mystery of God – the Trinity. In Bap sm each of us became an adop ve child of the Father, a member of Christ, and a temple of the Holy Spirit. (Catechism 1279) Any me we make the sign of the cross let us remind ourselves of this truth. Knowing the meaning of the words can encourage us to con nue along a lifelong path that ends in God. St. Jose Maria writes: God is my Father! If you meditate on it, you will never let go of

this consoling thought. Jesus is my dear Friend (another thrilling discovery) who loves me with all the divine madness of his Heart. The Holy Spirit is my Consoler, who guides my every step along the road. Consider this o en: you are God’s — and God is yours (taken from ‘Forge’, n. 2). The mystery of the Trinity is revealed in the loving rela onship of Jesus and the Father. Their bond of love for each other is revealed through the Holy Spirit. This trinitarian rela onship is a single plan of love that created a world in beauty and saves humanity who destroys itself in sin. God could destroy us for our evil ways, but he loves every one of us even when we sin and distance ourselves from Him. In the bond of their love Jesus gives his life, rises again, returns to the Father and together they send the Holy Spirit who guides us in everything. Mother Mary, help us give glory to the Most Holy Trinity in our words, thoughts, and ac ons in the lifelong path that ends in God, yet con nues in the Trinitarian unity of heaven.

Un Camino de por Vida que Termina en Dios

Jesús ordena a los creyentes salir y enseñar las buenas nuevas y bau zar en el nombre del Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo. El bau smo no es sólo un compromiso con Jesús, es una inmersión en el misterio de Dios – la Trinidad. En el Bau smo cada uno se convierte en un hijo adop vo del Padre, un miembro de Cristo, y un templo del Espíritu Santo. (Catecismo 1279) En cualquier momento que hagamos el signo de la cruz, recordemos esta verdad. Conocer el significado de estas palabras nos puede animar a con nuar por un camino de Dios. San Josemaría escribe: ¡Dios es mi Padre! Si meditas en él, nunca dejarás ir de este buen pensamiento. Jesús es mi querido Amigo (otro descubrimiento emocionante) que me ama

con toda la locura divina de su Corazón. El Espíritu Santo es mi Consolador, quien guía cada paso a lo largo del camino. Considera esto: Eres de Dios — y Dios es tuyo (tomado de ‘Forja’, n. 2). El misterio de la Trinidad se revela en la relación amorosa de Jesús y del Padre. Su vínculo de amor el uno por el otro se revela por medio del Espíritu Santo. Esta relación trinitaria es un único plan de amor que creó un mundo en belleza y salva a la humanidad que se destruye en el pecado. Dios podría destruirnos por nuestras malas maneras, pero Él ama a cada uno de nosotros aun cuando pecamos y nos distanciamos de Él. En el vínculo de su amor Jesús da su vida, resucita, regresa al Padre y juntos envían al Espíritu Santo que nos guía en todo.

Sacrament of Marriage The Pastoral Guidelines for Marriage Preparation are that a minimum of 7 months be set aside for personal preparation for marriage. Couples should refrain from setting a firm date until after they have called the office to discuss marriage plans. Weddings are celebrated Saturdays at 2pm.
