New Covid-19 Guidelines for Church

The Delta variant of the Virus is out there and we want to continue to keep everyone safe in church. Please consider the following guidelines.

--It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that everyone wear a mask in church, whether one is vaccinated or

not. Please try to maintain some social distancing as far as possible while in church.

--Please continue to receive Holy Communion on the hand. There is much less risk of possible spread of germs. The receiving of the Holy Eucharist on the hand is an approved and acceptable way to receive the Eucharist. Again, while not mandatory, this is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

--Please continue to disinfect your hands before coming to Church and before coming forward for Holy

Communion. Avoid physical contact when exchanging a sign of peace.

--Please be aware that our church is cleaned regularly and disinfected several times a week. Every precaution is being taken to keep people safe and healthy.

Let’s all do our part to eliminate Covid from among us!

The Music Ministry of St. Pancras

This weekend in Ordinary Time, we continue the chronicle of Jesus as an all-powerful healer of men: this time through the Gospel of Mark: a very fine account of the healing of the blind beggar, Bartimaeus.

Bartimaeus is unique in that when seeing Jesus, he immediately recognized him as the Messiah. The blind beggar knew that Jesus was divine — and, therefore, he was unabashed in proclaiming Jesus’ identity as such. Jesus then says to the beggar, “Your faith has made you well” — leading us to understand, as readers of this Gospel, that our faith and belief in God can save us. If we trust God, we as Christians are able to reap the true, divine blessings in store for us. Throughout the Bible, Jesus is seen as fulfilling God's purpose as the Messiah, a revolutionary healer who would free mankind from sin and death through his Crucifixion.

With this being said — just like Bartimaeus, may we as Catholics at St. Pancras be inspired by the everlasting power that Jesus possesses — and may we be prudent in trusting Him to heal us from all earthly ailments.

From the Pastor’s Desk...

October is Respect Life Month

October is designated as “Respect Life Month” by the Catholic

Church and many other organizations. We are all asked to be mindful of

our obligation to protect life in all its stages-from conception to natural

death and to do what we can to promote a culture of life, not death.

The world-famous

International Pilgrim Statue of Fatima

will visit St. Pancras Church

on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 7:00pm. Please join us for Mass beginning at 7:00pm followed by a

Talk by the Statue Custodian, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament,

Rosary (in 5 languages), Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Litany to Our Lady,

Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, and

private prayer to venerate the Statue.

The visitation of the International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Fatima is a

spiritually powerful event for the faithful and the most effective means to

spread this urgent message anew. The hearts she touches along the way

cannot be measured. This program continues the mission of Sister Lucia,

the seer of Fatima, to spread devotion to the Immaculate Heart in the world.

Dearest St. Joseph, at the word of an angel, you lovingly took Mary into your home. As God’s humble servant, you

guided the Holy Family on the road to Bethlehem, welcomed Jesus as your own son in the shelter of a manger, and fled far

from your homeland for the safety of both Mother and Child. We praise God that as their faithful protector, you never

hesitated to sacrifice for those entrusted to you. May your example inspire us also to welcome, cherish, and safeguard

God’s most precious gift of life. Help us to faithfully commit ourselves to the service and defense of human life —especially

where it is vulnerable or threatened. Obtain for us the grace to do the will of God in all things. Amen.
