Schedule

Thursday Arrive after 1pm, relax and settle in. Hike, swim, unwind from your daily life. At 6pm we’ll meet in the beautiful alfresco dining areas and enjoy a sumptuous vegetarian dinner. At 7:30pm, Chuck will lead the first Satsang to get acquainted, build some shared vocabulary, set our intention for the retreat, and then retire in the waning moonlight.

Friday 7:30am-10am: Morning practice #1. “Are you willing to be a beginner?” Samasthitihi. Atha. Brunch Free time for hiking, swimming, a massage, or nap 3:30pm-6pm: Afternoon clinic #1. Intelligence and attention. Samasthithihi as the master form that informs all other forms. Dinner 8:00pm Satsang #2: Ahimsa (non-violence). Satya (truth). Asteya (non-taking).

Saturday 7:30am-10am: Morning practice #2. “Don’t Halt. Don’t Struggle.” Using opposites to stabilize in balance. Brunch Free time for hiking, swimming, a massage, or nap 3:30pm-6pm: Afternoon clinic #2. Deepening Presence. Befriending Mara/Maya! Dinner 8:00pm Satsang #3: Gayatri Mantra & SuryaNamaskara practice.

Sunday 7:30am-10am: Morning practice #3. "Start from where you are!” Brunch 12:30-2:30pm: Afternoon clinic #3 on partner work and Closing Circle. Depart as late as 6:00pm [email protected]

State Room - sleeps 3 - $1,080 pp Like being in the stateroom of a luxurious yacht, this cozy bedroom at the south end of the house has the feel of being at the bow of a fine ship, with commanding views off into the distant horizon. Next to the kitchen and originally built for an au pair, chef or live-in housekeeper, this ample room has three single beds and its own private bath with shower.

Chumash Room – Sleeps 3-4 - $1,080 pp

The downstairs master suite, known as the Chumash Room after the Native Americans who inhabited this land, is a large bedroom with a king-size and two single beds. It has its own full private bath, with its original claw-footed bathtub/shower.

Chumash Porch – Sleeps 2 - $972 pp Based on the belief that it was healthy to sleep outdoors, homes built at the tu[.trn of the century were sometimes constructed with screened in sleeping porches. Two single beds

Alaya Room – Sleeps 3 - $1,080 pp

The upstairs master bedroom is a vast space perfectly illustrating the architectural genius of Greene and Greene. In this luxurious room, with it’s cozy nooks and spacious structure, one has the sense of being aboard an ocean going yacht of the Belle Époque. A fireplace, crafted with the fine patterning the Greene’s are known for, faces the queen-sized and two single beds. Shared bath with Kinder.

Pricing includes accommodations, all meals including gratuity, and all yoga instruction. Massage will be available during certain breaks for $95/hr. For an auspicious retreat, we priced each room as a multiple of $108 ;)

Kinder Room – Sleeps 3 - $1,080 pp

The upper floor of the Pratt House also includes a second large bedroom with its own entry from the hallway, three twin size beds, its own grand fireplace, and a screened sleeping porch leading to the upper veranda. The room is appointed in the warm and simple manner of the rest of the house, and shares a full bathroom with the adjoining Alaya Master Bedroom.

Stage Tea House – Sleeps 2 - $1,080 pp

Located on the stage at the base of the big lawn by the vineyard and parking lot, the Stage Tea House is warm and cozy and privately comfortable for two in single beds.

Orange & Mango Tea Houses – Sleep 2 ea. - $1,080 pp

These two Tea Houses are nestled in the orchard, next to the yoga studio.  Each is warm and cozy with two single beds.

Oak Zen Tea House – Sleeps 2 - $1,080 pp

Also nestled in the orchard, next to the yoga studio. Queen bed.

Vista Yurt – Sleeps 6 - $864 pp

Located a short 5-minute walk from the main house, the Yurt can sleep up to six people with six futon single beds.  There is a community shower, a sink, and a composting toilet in this dwelling.

Bungalow Cottage – Sleeps 2-3 - $1,080 pp

Private, next to the creek, with outdoor composting toilet & shower. One queen and optional sleeping loft.

Artist’s Stuio – Sleeps 2-3 - $1,188 pp

The Artist Studio is a little house with its own bath with shower, sink, and flushing toilet.  This dwelling is ideal for a couple or very close friends as the bathroom is only semi-private.  It is furnished with one queen bed and one single bed.

Gourmet Vegetarian Cuisine

Our retreat is being catered by Ojai local Robin Goldstein. Chef Robin works her culinary magic combining unique flavor and spices with local seasonal produce and products to create an unforgettable culinary experience for the palate and on the plate.

Known as “Private Chef Robin” to celebrity and private clients alike, Robin has made a career of providing an intimate, home-cooked experience that are anything but traditional home-cooked food. Robin uses classic techniques she honed at the Culinary Institute of America in New York and has been catering since 1984.

Massage

During certain breaks there will be massage available at $95/hour. A sign-up sheet will be circulated by email prior to the start of the retreat.

Yoga Gives Back

A portion of your tuition for the retreat will go to Yoga Gives Back (yogagivesback.org), whose mission is to mobilize the global yoga community to empower women and children in India to build sustainable livelihoods. Through the Grameen Foundation, they have funded programs who make small loans to nearly 900 women who are otherwise excluded from the conventional banking and financial systems with a minimum of a five-year commitment to each person.

Therefore, you will be asked to sign a liability waiver that includes your agreement to not post anything on social media about the retreat that could identify the property (e.g. pictures, name or address of the house etc.) Please respect this boundary or you and/or Chuck may not be invited back to the property in future.
