Message from the Principal
Hi everyone,
It is great to be back (I am not sure I have con-
vinced myself of that yet), but I’ll say it again… it
is great to be back.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in the history and grandeur of Egypt and Jordan,
as well as the hustle and bustle of Egypt and Jor-
dan today. I catch myself thinking of the blazing
colour of the tomb paintings and hieroglyphics where I expected monochrome, as well as the
grand scale that the celebration of life and the
preparation for an after-life were undertaken.
The pyramids were built on such a grand scale.
From each individual block to the total construc-
tion, my mind was continually stretched as to how each part was maneuvered and finished off. How
internal tunnels led to tombs and the details of
what each pharaoh chose to be entombed with in
order to kick-start their next life.
And in moving from one historic site to another, we navigated within traffic that only a city of 22
million people and what seemed like 30 million
horns can conjure. Nights at home will now be
spent scrolling through the thousands of photos
we took so that a book can be put together as a memory jogger for such a terrific experience.
Having spent a number of days travelling along
the Nile River, it will take some time for me to
again accept that we have the Yarra and are
thankful for it.
Thanks to Mrs Fisher and the entire team for
seamlessly ensuring that day to day life at Mont-
rose has gone on without any major issues. As I
look to the calendar, I can see that life at Mont-
rose PS is well and truly in full swing and I cannot wait to be part of it.
