Christ the King Mission StatementChrist the King Mission Statement
As the primary educational outreach of Christ the King Parish, Christ the King School is committed to helping children understand and internalize the Catholic faith. The School and its families serve the needs of the children by emphasizing academic excellence and encouraging service opportunities in an environment rich in Catholic tradition and discipline. Christ the King School provides its students with the challenges and skills needed to become actively involved in the world in socially responsible ways.
Christ the King PhilosophyChrist the King Philosophy
With the grace of God, Christ as our teacher, and the involvement of our parents and faculty as the primary educators of our children, Christ the King students will become productive, informed and moral members of the Church and society. Our students participate in programs addressing their religious, academic, moral, social and physical needs. Christ the King is a Catholic Christian educational community in which parents, students and teachers live out their baptismal promises. We provide leadership opportunities for our students so they become active contributors to a peaceful and just society. The students at Christ the King school are individuals who approach learning with various levels of development, natural ability and background. Our teaching community strives to create an atmosphere conducive to learning that promotes a sense of belonging and acceptance for everyone in an increasingly diverse environment.

Bullying/Conflict Action PlanBullying/Conflict Action Plan
Conflict Resolution An INCIDENT form was created as documentation tool to keep record of reports of
inappropriate behavior. All INCIDENT forms are given to Ms. Aspell and Mrs. Sullivan who meet monthly to review patterns of behavior that need to be addressed further.
PEACE boxes are present in Grades 4-8 for students to confidentially report their issues or concerns. Teachers and the school counselor read these.
Mrs. Kelly Sullivan meets regularly with classes and centers lessons around conflict resolution, character education, and bullying issues. Small group sessions are also scheduled in junior high and used in 4th and 5th grade on a need basis to work with certain groups where there seems to be continuous conflict.
Individual counseling is available and used for those students who have expressed social and emotional concerns and issues.
Bullying/Conflict Action PlanBullying/Conflict Action Plan
Positive Reinforcement
An anti-bully policy and pledge is introduced and present in all classrooms.
The WHAT WOULD JESUS DO? Program acknowledges each month those students who have been nominated by any school staff to demonstrate a special act of kindness to create a caring school community. The names are announced at the end of each month, an awarded is given, and names are posted on bulletin board outside of main office We have between 10 & 20 nominees a month.
We have had special presentations and assemblies that help reinforce the social skills we have taught. IMAGINATION Theater and BRIDGEWOK Theater have visited and presented interactive role-play situations. Motivational Productions and Pro Kids show have also been to our school. These programs reinforce positive character traits and creating a caring community
Bullying/Conflict Action PlanBullying/Conflict Action Plan
Parent Communication
Mrs. Sullivan has sent a out a letter at the beginning of the school year explaining expectations for the year and some of the things we have in place to facilitate this effort. A plea for communication to the school about concerns of repeated acts of unkindness and negative behaviors was requested.
Mrs. Sullivan set up a separate school e-mail for easy communication. A reminder of her e-mail address and communication request was e-mail blasted in January.
To date, not one e-mail has been received
Mrs. Sullivan has spoken personally with a few parents who have communicated their concerns.
